Unfortunately, we have to address an unsubstantiated rumor centering around my car. A rumor such as this can be quite detrimental to both American Autowire and DSE and therefore must be addressed so that all or our friends, fans, and partners know there is absolutely no truth to this rumor. The car is safely tucked away at DSE awaiting a road course shakedown at Kershaw in the coming weeks. We will post DSE photos to refute the rumor. We thank all the people showing concern and all our friends who have had such positive response to the car.

Good news!

I hope the crew at DSE takes video of that beautiful car at the road course.

Wow - I'm glad to hear that! I was feeling sick for everyone involved with the car.

The internet is a great tool for information, but it also spreads mis-information very quickly.

Well, I have received many emails and voice mails from many close friends on the "burn up" rumor. While it is not the car for everyone, I do thank you all for the activity surrounding the car. Many friends who saw the debut at HRR know the amount of work that went into the build and I can understand those who voiced concern about the possible destruction of such a great car. Could not be farther from the truth!! Please pass along my response so that we can crush this rumor before it gets out of hand.

No need to prove anything to anybody here.

But we've all wanted to see some great close ups of the car since it debuted.

maybe it was just a small fire, maybe just a couple of wires shorted out on something and it was heard through the grapevine. And the story got bigger.

All,

As Michael stated in his previous post, thank you for your concern about his car. However, as stated, nothing happened to the car in any way and is perfectly fine. There were no small or large incidents with the vehicle. Please understand that we take all builds, installs, and products very seriously and rumors of this nature are extremely important to us. The car is safely in the DSE shop awaiting a road couse test session shortly. Everone at Detroit Speed and American Autowire is excited for the upcoming summer so the car can stretch it's legs at many of the upcoming events for everyone to see. The attached picture was taken just this morning. Please understand the gravity of this type of rumor to both companies. Thanks again for your praise about the car, and we look forward to seeing you at events this year.

It is great to see all the kind words. If we can help you with any of your own projects, don't hesitate to call on us. As Ty said, it would be great to know who started the rumor. Rumor control can be handled in a much more professional manner. I hope we all learn that this kind of behavior can hurt anyone and really put a damper on our enthusiasm and trust. I'm out.

I heard the cause was an issue with the flux capacitor......they have their best fabricator working on it right now.

Not to beat a dead horse, but it's a shame if someone was trying to put a bad rep onto DSE or what they do as far as building these pro-tour monsters.
The car looks great and they do superior work. GREAT JOB DSE!!!

I heard this second hand and found out to today the the rumor that was out their didn't happen because I thought man that was a bad deal for any body to lost their car . And I wouldn 't start stuff with out knowing if it was true are not .That why I put a question mark on the thread. But the story was that it was a wire fire and wanted to know from someone who might know if it is true or not.Oh by the way my customer heard this from a DSE employee?I'm glad it not true. That a long way from Texas to hear this kind of stuff.
