Hey, as you guys know I'm the 17 year old building the 72 camaro in the projects area of the forum. I am running into a problem with my car. My motor is at 5/8th offset to the passenger side(measuring from the harmonic balencer center). My tranny mount was all the way to the drivers side so i moved it untill it is at center now(I have to cut the floor more, so I didn't want to cut something if I was doing something wrong). The motor is an LS1 and the tranny is a T-56. If I'm correct the motor and tranny should both be at 5/8th offset, the motor measured at the balencer and the transmission measured at the tail shaft? Is the right measurements or am I doing something wrong. Any input would be great and totally appreciated.
Thanks
Joe

what trans X member are you using? if i am not mistaken the factory did not instal the motors in the center of the car inorder to give the drive shaft some angle to reduce vibration and i think the tunnel is off set as well.
i am sure someone can confirm this but i wouldn't worry too much about it if it all fits. you may want to look at the ATS motor and trans mounts?

I'm using a turbo 350 crossmember but I'm modifying it to make it work for t-56
