How many Glam Rock fans do we have in here? Motley Crue, Poison, Whitesnake, Warrant, Dangerous Toys, Dokken etc.
Hot Rods and Hard Rock go together so I figured I'd see what kind of musical tastes we have in here.

I grew up with that stuff, but I kind of stayed into 'new' music as it came out.
Right now, my favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold- they have a classic hard rock style more like the older bands you mentioned, but they don't sound 'dated' at all. If you haven't heard them, give a listen. Based on what you said you liked, I'd put big money on you really liking their music.

I like "some" new music, but mostly listen to the classic rock/ metal. I still hold Metallica as my all time favorite group, well, everything from the black album back... ! :D

I love old Van Halen, AC/DC more of the Bon Scott stuff, Ozzy, Metallica, Megadeth stuff like that, I really hate to say it but the older I get the heavier I like my music, Mudvayne, Slipnot stuff like that gets me going, I'm just getting more ornery in my old age of 34 so I like screaming along at the music and yes everyone thinks I'm crazy!

I like all music. Big 80s music guy. I know some of those guys. Been to lots of shows, partied with many of them. You have not done anything until you party with the Crue in their heyday!
Interesting time to bring this up. As a matter of fact today I am in on Sunday making a work list for the lead gutaist for Creed 57 Chevy. Looking at maybe one of Rodgers chassis amoung other things.
On the other side of the coin, music wise I listen to everything and went to a country / rock show last night, Miranda Lambert and she was feakin awesome!

metal fan here too. Love Steel Panther. The old stuff rocks. Then again, I also jam to the oldies and I'm only 29.

My iPod is schizo(?), I've got everything from Depeche Mode to Devil Driver on there. I listen to mostly rock, but a fair amount of country, retro 80's, electronic and everything in between gets played as well.

No body killed the guitar like EDDIE..Or the drum beats cranked from Hot for Teacher, sounding like a top fuel dragster on a good system. ZZ TOP
AND SO ON.
Stevie Ray Vaun love to crank that...
the Bad thing about the eighties is the Rock guys tried to look like chicks..
Alot of good music cam from that era though

Now, it's all about the METAL, DEATH METAL and HARDCORE!! Did I mention DEATH METAL!?!? lollllllllllllll........

Nice one tones, that's what it's all about for me too! What sort of stuff do you like? The heavier the better for me. I'm into Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Deicide, Aborted etc, you get the idea. I'm going to see Machine Head and Hatebreed on Sunday night!! Third time I've seen each band.
BTW, this is a great thread.
For new music, I like Slipknot and Five Finger Death Punch.

My first concert was Ozzy diary of a madman, I was big into metal. Alas as I have aged I fell for country, which I used to hate. Its mellow which I need when I commute. I still enjoy hard rock but only listen to it on occasion.

Big metal fan hear...never really got into the real "hardcore" stuff where the leader singer basically just yells into the microphone... I prefer the guys that can sing...not just scream and grunt....
Had the mullet...never did the full "long hair" metal look. Clothes basically consisted of jeans and metal band concert shirts
VH, AC/DC (prefer the Bon Scott stuff), Metallica, Scorpions, GNR, Aerosmoth, Def Leppard etc etc....
Eddie Van Halen was my idol....had tons of pix and posters in my room
HATED the glam bands....as soon as they started to look like chicks, they lost me.....even Crue once they entered their pastels and big hair phase
Now, my favorite "newer" bands are Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, etc....still more of a mainstream metal/rock, than some of the guys on here
:beavis: :rockin:
I kind of like a mix of Ned and Tones choices. Good sound, heavy, lot's of guitar. I grew up on the hair bands too, even went to a Dokken concert LOL! Might have seen Ratt too, kind of a fuzzy memory......:_paranoid the late 80s and early 90s are real fuzzy.....

I do like my metal, grew up on Ronnie Montrose w/Sammy then a pretty heavy dose of Dio.Now,I listen to Saliva,Slipknot for my metal fix but my tastes run all over the board except no country and no rap crap.
In my house, there'll be smooth jazz in the living room and bedroom (for the cat:yes: ),classic rock in the front garage and currently, either classic Johnny Winter live from 1971 or Warren Haynes Gov't Mule series of southern-fried rock...I do like my Ray Wylie Hubbard too.
Currently in the DD is Chickenfoot but no music in the musclecar's...ever!
Music lends itself to different moods and I like to have variety in my life...

I should have included Queensryche. They are local here and I have followed them since the start. Been to many shows small and large and still crank it up till it hurts. They were also the opening act at my first concert. Dio. Paramount Theater. I was in the 5th grade. The "blue" cloud in that place was amazing........:D If my mom only knew what she had done by letting me go. LOL!!!
Nice post, Travis! You started something with this one! Seen well over 100 shows from KISS at Dodgers Stadium on halloween night '98 to Metallica with GnR and Motorhead in the King Dome to Black Label Society and Gruntruck in bars. And who here can forget the free, open bar, private David Lee Roth show at the Hard Rock during SEMA week a few years back?! Best night ever? Maybe! Show me your horns!

Zeppelin (especially live), DLR era VH, Rush, Sabbath (esp w/Dio), Metallica is typical. Newer stuff, huh, system of a down, FFDP, white stripes, some others. Although I was crusing home from work the other day in the DD with a whitesnake concert from the US slide it in tour. John Sykes & Cozy Powell, very good.

Mudvayne, Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Poisonblack, Black Label Society... if it's heavy and fast I like it.

Let me just warn everyone who has responded to this thread that Greg is not joking and his 24/7 shop soundtrack is that crap we make fun of coming over the PA system at old-timer's shows. It hurts. Bad.....
For the love of all things that rock, at least get your soundtrack into the 70s, Greg.

Hey hey hey, you guys should leave Greg alone lol, theres nothing wrong with old stuff lol Tempations, Frankie Vallie, Righteous Brothers: Youve lost that loving feeling? How can you throw that out!?
The Beach Boys are my favorite band. Folowed by ACDC!
I get into anything 50's up to early 90's right before we get to the seatle ****. LOL
Hell yea I get into the heavy metal hair bands, KIX is from my hometown, Hagerstown representin'! Def Leppard, Crue, Poinson. YEA!
I mix it up a little bit with some techno occasionally, then completely change it up with Bluegrass! (Makes for a shocking combo on CD)
I can't get into rap...DEATH METAL or SCREAMO...its not music.

The groups of the past few years are ok,....and getting better in the past year.
I like Atreyu, Aranda, Age of Daze, Black Stone Cherry, Rise Against, The Last Vegas, Sixx AM, etc.

metal guy here. Like the old stuff but also listen to new rock. We have the best radio station in the country here in OKC and on the web www.KATT.com
That's no BS! My wife is from OKC and whenever we go there to visit family I don't even listen to my IPOD. You guys actually have a couple good rock stations, but KATT is the best. Here in Hawaii we do not have a single rock station. We have 105.9 that claims to be classic rock, but Pat Benatar, Supertramp, Michael Mcdonald era Doobies, Phil Collins....(I'm starting to get angry)...are not classic ROCK. Here you will NEVER hear Ozzie, The Crue, Jimi Hendrix, Zeppelin, or 70's Aeromsmith on the radio. We have 400 reggae stations though.
