Anyone use HOK shimrin base coats? How do they compare to their kandy counterparts? Any good or bad experiences appreciated. Looking at Brandywine and Apple reds... TIA - Ron

Here's the HOK apple red shimrin base coat with a black base. I've painted a truck once before but a lone time ago so this was quite new to me. I didn't find it that bad at all. I painted the firewall in my garage and so far am very happy with the way it turned out. I'll likely pay someone to spray the car as I've put so much time and money into the car already, I'd hate to screw that part up. There are more pics in my build thread also.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, so you just lay down the specified black base then shoot the Shrimrin, then clear it? How many coats of the Shimrin? Thanks again Mike!! :lateral:

I just followed their directions that came with the paint. I used their black and it was I believe 2 or 3 coats and then 3 or 4 coats with the shimrin and then clear. It all went pretty smooth. Good luck with it Ron and post some pics when you have it done.
Shimrin all the way!!
