What's your opinion on these wheels?

There's an importer here who has just recieved a container of stock in. Amongst this lot to fit my car he has:
Torque thrust II's 17" and 18" - i like them, but everyone has them
Coys C5's 18" in chrome - i like these with the painted centre though
Boyd Harm in 18" - not a fan of them

And lastly a set of these boyd osiris in 18x8 and 18x9's. I quite like the look of them, but just wanna know if anyone else is running them and what they'd look like on my 68.

I can get these for $2k without tyres, and the simmons i priced up came to $5k with tyres in the same size. If i can convince myself to make a compromise on my wheel choice i can save a decent amount of money and time waiting.

IMO, don't comprimise on your wheel selection. Now if something jumps out and really catches your eye that is different. Remember,this is something you will have to look at evertime you look at the car, so make sure you are happy with them. A little savings now could cost you more in the end.

I like them. Boyd's make some good wheels. I have the Boyd "FURY"
on my 67 Camaro.

I liked the ones pictured. I had a set of Boyd's BC-09's (looks just like them) for my 69 and before I had a chance to run them ,I sold the wheels to a friend. He put them on a 68 convertible that we drove on the power tour.

They really looked good and I would make the choice to buy them again.

I will see if I can get him to send me a picture of the 68 and I will post it up.

If you like them and they have the proper offset front and rears for your application, I say go for it. They are very agressive looking wheels. I would not tell anyone you got a great deal, just use the money in a place where you may have considered a compromise and do it the way you want.

If yu would have started this post "What do you think of my wheel selection?" I would have said they look killer. They do!!

I like them but cant make a choice without seeing the other wheels. I would say to photoshop those wheels on your car or similar year car to see what they will look like.

Picking wheels is like picking a wife. You absolutely must get the ones that you can look at every day and will be less likely to fall out of love with. That will lessen the chances of the huge expense of getting a new set when a better design catches your eye. :unibrow:

I think they'd look killer on your car. As Jim said though, make sure the back-spacing is correct.

Love the Boyd rims. Photoshop is a good idea. I did that with my car and rims.
Choose the top 5 rims an then had the screen change every five seconds.

You can't go wrong that way.

I think the 67/8 shape look very good with the 5 spoke type design wheels... i dont think you can go wrong with that choice. As long as they are big, and shiny. I will check the backspacing on them definately before i purchase, i'm fairly sure he said they had 5.5" backspacing on em.

We can get most things ordered into the country, but choice of stuff off the shelf is usually fairly limited.

I'm pretty keen on picking up these wheels, what backspacing should they be to fit ideally under the back? I wanted to run a 9.5" wheel out back, but it's only half inch i'm losing.

I have standard width 12 bolt out back with drums on, i plan on upgrading to some decent disc in the future, will this affect my wheel choice now?

Yep, the wheels make the car.. get what you like and WHAT FITS.. if you like these and they fit then go for it.. I like the style personally..
