Light 12v Optima?

OK so what im looking for is a light weight optima battery. I want the quality of the optima battery but in a smaller package. Maybe one that is half the size/weight of the current unit i have. Or has this just been something others have brought up and just never goes past that point?

The yellow top group 51 is strong enough to crank over most applications. Id look into that.

All of the optimas are pretty much the same size and weight. If you're looking for something lighter and small but still with the same quality, I would look into Oddessey batteries. They seem to be a bit more expensive than Optimas but the quality is better and you paying to lose quite a bit of size and weight.

Might try 2 six volt Optima batteries. Not sure if there is a weight difference - might actually weigh a bit more. We used 2 in series in a 33 hot rod. Mounted them in the left side panel of the trunk. LS7 engine - No problems cranking it over at any time.

Optima 8071-167 is a group 57 T2 yellow top, it's 450cca 27.2 lbs, and I was told it is used in race cars for lighter weight. There might be a red top version with more CCA's.
Any AGM battery is already lighter than a flooded type battery.

I've done some research on all the other brands out there, but I really have my reasons for wanting to stay with an Optima. The market could use another contender. Ill just stick with what i have the battery hold down is already welded in the car anyways. :)
