Gents,
was doing some work on the car- removed the rear window and that panel between the window and the trunk. It does not seem right.
That panel at the base of the window is sheet metal screwed into the body. So when I reinstall the window and put the trim on, I can see no way to prevent rain from running down the window, under the trim and puddling under this panel, or dripping into the body through the screw holes. Chevy used this panel from '70 to '81, so it can't be that bad, right? Am I missing a gasket ? Do I need to pile up a bunch of silicon? Or ???????
In the pic the panel in question is primer grey- trim clips are black. See the gaps that would let water run down to the trunk weatherstripping?
