I got my motor in this week from Cleveland Pick a Part for a 71 Camaro we have been working on here @ the shop :D... We just got the motor loaded between the frame rails.. We will be loading the sub-frame on the body to see where we will be having to cut the transmission tunnel. We will start the design of new motor mounts mid next week with trans support.. Got some new suspension ideas coming for this build!!
Car has been painted already & will post pics when I get it out of the back of the shop.. Electric Orange with Black stripes!! Charcoal/black interior.. Wheels?? Wilwood Brakes.. & much more as the build moves forward :unibrow:

We have been very busy lately.. Lots of changes going on the projects running in the shop.. I did not think the owner of this car would want an LS conversion but he stepped it up & has approved lots of other changes :unibrow:

The car looks great and this will be a nice setup with the 6sp auto. Is it tuff to get pinion angle right because it has to be tucked way up in the tunnel?

Nice color. Is electric orange an OE color? The name does not ring a bell.
Man, that is one tall trans. I can't wait to see how this ends up. How does pan clearance look? They seem to hang pretty low.

It will be a challange to get the driveshaft to clear the tunnel.. but have some ideas on how we are going to make this work.. as you see in the pics.. it is already set @ 3 deg down on transmission..

It is Atomic Orange that we painted this car... GM color code is 83.. Electric Orange was one of the samples we painted for this car... which is European if I remember correct.. Sorry for the confusion!

Well?.. I'm stoked cause this was the one car I was most interested in seeing more of in your shop... But there's not enough updates!
Color is similar to mine... So I want to see plenty more! :poke:

I'll be waiting! You didn't host any pics of this project on another board did ya? PT, etc?
I think I remember eye'in this in the background at your shop when Mary's car was mid-way. I'm very curious about the interior, as I had ambitions to go high-zoot, but I think I'm going to instead go rather stock-ish after I pull the trigger on some Procar rally seats.
P.S., my wife just saw the pics on here and asked "isn't that YOUR car?" lol
