As per another post I just replied to, what did you guys think of the Winter Olympics in Vancouver??

I lived it here, it was in my hometown. The city and country were united like I have never seen before. Thousands lined the streets every night. Was pretty proud of all of the athletes, the city and the country.

The Mens hockey gold was the best end to the games I could have imagined. Favorite performances by Canadians were Biledeau's first gold on home soil, Jon Montgomery's skeleton gold and him chugging a jug of beer as he walked through Whistler village and Joannie Rochette skating for the bronze after her mom's death. To top it off the Canadian ice hockey Gold was back stopped by our home Goalie Roberto Luongo.

Us Canadians do wish more americans would love the sport of hockey as much as we do. Its such a great sport. The American team played phenomenal and I was also very proud of another local player for the US team Ryan Kesler.

I hope all you guys got a glimpse of my city and hope you know its a great city and we don't all live in igloos up here. lol

Glad you enjoyed the games, it's pretty amazing for it to be in your back yard.

Got sick of watching curling but other then that it was awesome.

The hockey of course was the best

And the bobsled like always was so damn cool.

Olympics stated off bad (death of Luge guy) but thank god there were no other issues.

what was up with the snow. i heard there were lots of issues with not enough snow leading up to the start.

Yep no snow up here this winter. I heard its all in Texas. Great Olympics anyways. Vancouver is an awesome city. The hockey was the only thing that kept me from working on my Camaro. lol
Gold, how sweet it is!!

what was up with the snow. i heard there were lots of issues with not enough snow leading up to the start.

Record warm temperatures were the reason. But they did a great job to get it all together.

The alpine skiing, cross country, ski jumping and sledding events were at Whistler which is about an hour or so drive from Vancouver. There was lots of snow there.

I have to agree they were great and the hockey was amazing. Only problem is I had to watch on NBC, which doesn't compare to CTV/CBC when it comes to comentary.I lived in Vancouver for awhile and it is a great city, my brother still lives there and was telling me about how crazy it was.

They were fantastic! (with the unfortunate exception of the death)
The Sharks had 8 players out on olympic teams, so I wasn't really rooting for any specific country to win. Just really enjoyed watching the players. Canada played some awesome games though!

And I had a good friend competing in women's slalom and giant slalom! It was really cool to watch.
