Am interested in any info about how well the kit works and if there were any problems using the kit?

just out of curiosity what might be the reason. I thought we were past that tech.what would be the purpose? still cant grasp the fact that they have carb conversions also.but maybe I can be enlightened.

The LS platform is a great design and for the guys that don't want to use EFI or ECMs to take advantage of these engines the distibutor and carb is a great way to go. And some racing bodies are using the LS engines now and require the use of a carb. The LS being lighter (aluminum block versions anyway), more efficient, easy to swap cams in, making great power for the size, and a whole lot more just makes them a good choice in power plants.

What makes this kit of interest to me is that using it and some LS to GEN I
adapter engine mounts and a rear sump oil pan, it should be about as difficult as swapping in a GEN I engine, and if used with a trans. adapter, you could keep the original trans. which means no custom driveshafts or adapting an electric signal to a cable driven speedo. Also, no custom drive by wire throttle pedal assembly, ECM, electric fuel pump/tank is required. Plus it saves weight, 100-150 lbs., over an iron small block engine and there's the benefit of the newest designed factory cylinder heads. All for about the same price as a performance smallblock or a mild big block build. It seems to be a cost effective way to do an LS engine. And while not the only way to do the swap, it is one way.

I agree Paul. It is a great alternative to a traditional small block with some HUGE advantages. If you look at the cost of used LS motors on the market now (700 bucks will get you a very low mile aluminum block 5.3 with about 300hp) it just does not make sense to rebuild a gen 1 motor.

Found this pic in the wegner automotive galleries... that right there is reason enough for me to buy an engine right there on the spot.. the pic seems to show they know whats good for a man
