Okay - Mods you might have to move this because it's not really PT --

BANKS ENGINEERING NOW OFFERS A "JAKE BRAKE" for Automatic trucks!

I was just notified by Banks Engineering (and ordered the stuff) that they now have a "jake brake" for our toy hauling trucks. I have a 2006 6.0L Ford... with an AUTOMATIC... and they've never had a "jake brake" for the auto equipped trucks, but now they do.

I'm running the Banks stuff on the truck already --- and this will just plug and play -- and gets rid of my Palm PDA controller (they're giving me a $150 CREDIT for returning it too!) and gives me their new controller... SOMEHOW this "brake" controller controls the vanes in the turbo - and also the transmission, and will also shift gears for you. This is a life saver on big downhills.

Just thought I'd share this info == 'cause this is pretty cool stuff if you tow much! I have NOTHING to do with Banks or anything connected to them - I'm just a happy customer.

I had an exhaust brake on my 01 7.3L and it was really helpful. I would look into this for my 6.0. Banks stuff may not make the most power, but it is usually tuned to be pretty safe and easy on parts.

we've done the vane deal with EFI Live on the Duramax trucks. Not as good as a real exhaust brake, but does make a difference.

I think the new GM trucks this summer will have compression braking from the factory.

I got the e-mail on the new 2011 HD Silverado, they're saying most ever hp and tq from the Duramax, but they never stated the numbers...

I looked at the new Ford -- but I have so many mods (Banks Big Hoss Bundle - and full Talon suspension - as well as my radios etc) on my truck and so few miles (60K) that I'm not willing to get rid of it yet. With the Banks intake - intercooler - and turbo back exhaust - it will pull a house of it's foundation... and it rides like a Cadillac with the Talon Suspension... So until I order a new gooseneck trailer I'll just let this one sit out there (which is what it does 90% of the time).

I just thought this Banks brake was worth adding... and I'll put it to good use this summer with Power Tour and Kool Deadwood Nights runs as well as a couple more long pulls.
