Trailer Hitch Question

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations for a trailer hitch for a 1967 Camaro?

Okay you have a couple options

You can look on ebay and see if you can find the old U-Haul Chain Mount Hitch that they actually made for the camaro's Big and bulky. It basically chains itself to your bumper.

Or Plan B - which i would advise.

Have your local fab shop create a hitch for you. I have one that is already designed for my 2nd gen project. It's pretty simple and almost discreat. Since it have a bent 1/2" plate that will accept the ball.

Take the ball off and all you have is the hitch receiver hanging under the plate. Which means you may have to modify your trailers tounge.

A neat way to build a hitch on a 1st gen would be to use the old rear spring bushing mount bosses for the main surport ,then run some 5/8x2 flat back up along the rear frames rails forward.use a pc.1.5 x.188 sq.tube as cross bar from side to side,then order a 1.25 .id sq.tube recv. order from rigid hitch in minnesota. you can also get saftey chains loops from them to. I'm going to be building a custom for my Dart, and picking up a rear license plate frame off the 77 or so T/A that will hide the receiver. Should work pretty sweet and not be visible when not in use.

maybe you could bring it through the license plate (use a 69 flip down plate)
This way you can hide it, and i bet you could tie it to the frame rails that way.
