hey guys my name is kevin and ive never post anything on here just kinda followed the site and looked at all the cool projects on here. my stepdad scott with the sunoco camaro has been telling me i should post some pics of my car on here. although my car isn't much compared to scotts car or alot of other cars on here i decided to throw up a few pics of my car ive been working on for the last two years and see what everyone thinks. the goal for the project was to build a car as cheap as possible yet still perform well and look good and hold up to some serious punishment. but anyway heres a few pics of my 69 camaro.

Sounds like you have great mentor and possibly a great extra set of hands which is always important. The build is looking great. What subframe are you running?

yeah scott is definitely alot of help if there is something i cant figure out the answer is just a phone call away. lol the subframe i built off of scotts jig using stock camaro geometry. i wanted to run C6 suspension but im building the car on a tight budget so to try to save a little money i used the camaro stuff.

Hey guys Kevin's car is really a nice build. He is being very modest.Kevin worked side by side w/Brian Kellison on the paint & body work and the car came out smokin hot. This is a 24year old that owns his own house pays all of his bills and stills manages to build a bad as% hot rod. Most of the time he works at lest 50hr a week.He has built almost every part himself.I have done some tig welding and givin some advise but thats it.And when it's done look out because he can wheel a car.I will not win another autox agin.I guess that go kart racing as a kid is now going to back fire on me now.

haha thanks for talking me up scott! lol ill have to admit its been really tough keeping up with everyday life and still find time and funds for the project. but when its done all the hard work and hours will be well worth it! thanks again to scott for all the advice and help....theres no way i would have made it this far without his help. and also want to thank brian kellison...he really helped me out on the paint and body work and did a hell of a job! im really happy with the way it turned out. hope to have the car running within the next couple months.

Nice work! Great color choice...
Not every build has to be 8 bazillion dollars! I love what you're doing - keep it up and hold your line... Good to see a family working together for that common goal..

hey guys i havent posted any progress photos of my camaro in a while so thought i would share a few pics since the car is close to being done. over the winter i installed the vintage air gen IV dse wiper kit and the interior and stereo in the car. also got a steal on a set of Z51 corvette brakes and anvil carbon header and wiper cowl. a few little things left to do and now saving some money for a set of forgelines and i think i will be good to go. but anyway here are a few pics. thanks kevin

as scott said they are centerline hammers, and they were a set of wheels we had laying around and used them on my project until i can afford a new set of wheels. I decided to leave the caps off because i didn't care for how they looked and went with long studs and big lug nuts to kinda give it the race car look.
thanks for looking, kevin

I rode with Kevin at the Good Guys event in TX yesterday. He's a heck of a wheel man...nice and smooth. It's a nice car and built in his 2 car garage. Kevin is like 25 years old and has some mad fab skills...I guess some of Scott's skills kind of rubbed off on him a little. I enjoyed the ride and the conversations with Kevin and Scott.

hey thanks for the kind words tom. yeah for a car built out of leftovers on a shoe string budget im pretty stoked i was able to run that close to kyle and wheel master brian finch. and the car just rolled over a hundred miles on the odometer so who knows maybe after a little more work and tuning we can get it up there and beat those guys. but definitely happy with the weekend and we had a blast!
take care, kevin

Kevin, congratulations on the awesome run. It is cool to see your budget car running as well as it did. You're a hell of a driver too. I don't know if you remember me, but you gave me and my brother a ride in the sunoco car at charlotte last year. Thanks again! I'm looking forward to possibly seeing you and scott at some more events this year.

Kevin's camaro worked super all weekend long.If the tires were legal we would be taking it back to Nashville this next week end.He was 2 tick's slower than Mr.Finch at the end of the day Sun.But I think giving Mike Ring a ride around the autox course was pretty cool for me.
What size are the front and rear tires? 275 & 335?
Any chance we can get some pics of the rear suspension?
Great looking car!

Hey Kevin, dont know how I missed this thread but awesome car!! I like the way it looks with those wheels(I know your saving for Forgelines), gives the car a kind of ruff look to it.
Your in great hands with Scott. Give him a punch in the shoulder hello from me.;)
Congrats on the auto-x times. Hope to see you guys out on the west coast some time

the fronts are 275/40/17 and the rears are 315/35/17. there should be some pics of the rear suspension earlier in this thread or you can check out shannons thread under chassis and suspension (scott mocks rear suspension)
kevin
This thread doesn't have any pics of the rear suspension. Modo's thread doesn't have any installed pics, either.

Hi Kevin,
Car looks great
I do have a question.
What exhaust manifolds are on the motor ?
they are just stock manifolds off a 98 trans am. they are tube welded together instead of cast iron so i had them jet coated and just used them for now to save a little money. hoping next winter to do a little motor work and then ill put some headers on it.
thanks kevin

What motor mounts and adapter plates used on subframe?
the motor mounts are energy suspension poly mounts and we machined the adapter plates out of aluminum.

Kevin,
Did you upgrade the front suspension in the 69? If so, do you have any pics? What size wheel tire did you fit in there?
Good news.
Scott,
Can he turn lock to lock without rubbing with that wide of a rim/tire?
