In a shop I worked in we were on a tight budget, no money. But we picked up one of the all in one machines like that 16ga unit you have. 16ga was beyond its capabilities. They kinda over reached the specs for ours. But it did come in handy for some 22ga sheet. It wouldnt do much with 16ga though. But it did help the guys out with the thinner stuff. JR

We have the same bender in our shop, but ours is from Harbor Freight. I am sure its the same machine just different color and stickers. We noticed the same issue that the unit doesn't really do well with anything over 18 gauge and only small lengths at that. It will shear some 20 gauge stainless, but its not happy and every time I had to do it I was afraid the machine would explode.
I am jealous of the shrinker/strecher combo, that's been on my wish list for a couple of years. Right now I am working on making my own blasting cabinet so I can finally get some parts cleaned up. I have it roughly drawn in CAD, now I just have to see if I can make it work.

I thought the Baileigh stuff was all US or at least a higher quality import?

I am courious about that too. I have only seen the 3 in one machines in the Harbor Freight and similar cheap imports. I have only seen Bailaigh to sell good stuff.

It cuts 16 ga at 48" no problem, struggled with 14 ga at 48" the machine is a lil tough to turn right now, hopefully it breaks in soon.
the Baileigh is an import, made to Baileigh spec, which is considerably higher that horror freight.
the shear, brake, roll is 1,200 lbs!!
it's very substantial.
I'm very happy so far, keep everyone posted

We have the same little shear / brake / roll and we wear it out. Very portable and perfect for little patches.

I have hard time believing that brake/shear/roll weight 1200 lbs ,but if it cuts 16 ga at 48",that's all that matters,my HF knock-off of this machine can't cut 6" of 18 ga

PS, we had a 48 inch Harbor Freight 3in1 unit at work - and broke the right frame casting clean in two. Lasted just over a year.

yeah brake, shear, roll is a monster!!!
It only has a few hours of use so far, I have no complaints at this time.
Now if I could just get the E-wheel figured out:lol:

on the waiting list for this bad boy.
I have been werking at another shop that doesn't have a notcher, need a "portable" type. getting very tired of bending and notching at my shop, and doing refit, and shaping off site... it SUCKS!!!

Do any of these machines do well with 20ga stainless?
Streetwerkz
04-08-2010, 06:39 AM
they are 16 ga mild, and should do 22 ga stainless, but I have not tried it.
I'm sure it would, they have exceeded all performance claims so far

Got tired of tripping over this thing, so I made a stand for her.
Nice little drop tray for cutting small parts so I don't have to chase them all over the shop.
1.5" X 3" X .250 wall tube
powder coated wrinkle black base, and drop tray (back only)
candy red trim powder coat
BTW, I know I'm white trash BLING BLING:lol:

I like it!!! Love the huge shop. I see the tennsmith finger brake over there. Hmmm, now yer just showing off :) I had a tennsmith pan and box brake (HBU48-12) for a few years. That lil dude was packed tight with steel. It easily handled the capacity as stated. I had it on some six inch poly wheels to roll around my tiny garage.
Ever think of mounting a gear driven motor to the end of the shaft where the long handle is on your new shear/brake ? With a foot control :) OK!!!! Im lazy LOL Would make for some easy shearing though?? Nice shop!!! JR

That is a really neat little item!! How much does one of those cost? I could do a ton of fun stuff with that.
