How cool is that?!?!??
A quick background...I've been mostly a lurker here as my 67 slowly progressed, but now I finally have something to post about! I bought my Camaro in '92 while I was in college...it was my daily driver until '97 when I moved to Florida. It sat in my sister's garage for five years until she finally had enough (thanks Miss!), but luckily, a good friend towed in down for me, all the way from Ohio to Florida. I drove it about a week...it overheated badly...so I thought, well let's tear it apart and fix a few things.
That was 2002.
It was in worse shape than I thought. Floors were bad, frame rails shot...it actually had quarter skins riveted and bondo'd over the originals. So I tore it down to a shell and started doing what I could and what I could afford. I was learning as I went.
In 2004, I took the plunge and started my own business. Lucky for me, business went well...unlucky for the camaro, I had no time to work on it. By 2007, I felt I could afford to have someone finish of the bodywork. If I remember right, I believe I contacted Frank but he had a pretty good wait time. Of course, I was impatient and decided I wanted to have it done locally, so I could keep an eye on it (big mistake). I eventually found someone and the result was the common tale of "paint jail"...a year and a lot of money wasted.
Early last year, I finally called Frank again at Prodigy Customs and here we are today. To say I am thrilled would be the understatement of the year.
Last weekend, Frank was gracious enough to let me drive down and install my motor and trans (to avoid chips later) so I got to see everything in primer, ready for paint. I was already blown away at that point and could only imagine what the final product will be.
Wow, wow, wow...to me, it's perfect. For those that are curious, it's viper red. Yep, another red firstgen camaro, but I don't care. That baby is mine! LOL
I can't say thank you enough to Frank, Michael, Andrew, Raymond, Bob, Lisa and anyone else I forgot at Prodigy Customs...THANK YOU!
Jason
PS. The webcam was awesome. I watched Andrew paint a few coats of red...reveal the stripes...paint the clear and watched Frank call me to tell me it was done. I then proceeded to waste the entire rest of the day emailing pictures to friends and family and talking on the phone. LOL

Thanks guys...after all this time, I still can't believe it's painted.
I know there's still a lot of work to do, but I can't help but feel a giant hurdle has been crossed.
In celebration, please have a beer on me...that's what I'm doing!

I still remember when Frank painted my car. It was New Years eve and my computer locked up when I opened his email. It took me 3 hours to see the photos. I was pissed! Frank will never do you wrong. Good luck sleeping tonight.

Man, you guys are mind readers. I need to get some sleep, but it's just not happening.
Vegas, I've followed your build...awesome car! I'm putting a 489 in mine too, although not as intense as yours. That block is a work of art.
Here's mine. Brodix race rites, hydro roller, Holley efi.

That's awesome---the ability to watch your car being painted via the web--live---now that's cool.
It sure looks nice--great choice on the color---and it's great you went traditional and kept the stripes IMO---motor looks awesome--that should set off the engine compartment nicely I would think! Congrads on getting it through paint. Keep the pics coming!

This is going to be cool, every car on the property is from out of town, the nearest is from Tallahassee, this car. I do no local work at all, never have unless it is by accident. Everything comes from out of state or out of the country. We have always done lots of pictures, this is just the next progression.
Were are going to go through a few lenses in the booth (over spray), but I bet the customers would gladly pay for them if I asked, LOL!
The rest of the shop is wired too. The web cam is a side benefit. It is actually a additional security thing we installed after a 4:30AM false alarm made me grab my guns and run to the shop a few weeks ago. Now I am monitoring from the house and have a deadicated PC running full time just watching the shop. Had I had the camera system when I had that false alarm, I could have just checked the cameras and saved a fricken heartattach. Now I sleep better.
Oh, and there is one more tennie tiny side benefit of the cameras.............I travel quite a bit delivering and picking up cars, doing, shows, etc. Now I can see what the guys are doing from my laptop and broadband modem! Technoligy is a great thing! the guys are all so happy, ROFLMAO!

First -- that color and the paint quality is just fabulous!
Frank -- re: Lens overspray issue... I wonder if they have screw on or snap on lens protectors like they do for SLR cameras... Or maybe you already have something like this.
I think the paint booth version (camera) should be in 1080i HD --- and I'm certain the rest of the guys here would agree with me!!!
Oh - and you must have one of those "fun house" mirrors....

No fun house mirrors at Prodigy... that booth is HUGE!!!

Maybe the disposable screen protectors for the touch style cell phones? Cheap, easy and durable.

I was thinking SARAN WRAP stretched real tight -- it's pretty clear! Peel it off and toss it. CHEAP....

Ok, we were on a different level of cheapness. You win. LOL!!
I really do like the idea of a camera in the booth for customers to see the action. Nice touch Frank!

I actually do think Saran Wrap would work.

It is amazing how hard the booth fans pull the overspray into the fan, but how much we see around tiny air leaks, camera lens when we take picturss of painting, how much you smell in the back of the booth.
The booth is 40' long build specifically for painting cars in pieces all at once.
