Here it is guys, the carbon fiber closeout panel for the 67-69 Camaro. We got these in on Friday afternoon, and I just installed the first production one on my 68 Camaro last night.

Here are some detail shots, as well as an install.

The close out panel in satin finish:

Detail shots of the contours; it actually transitions from concave to convex:

Latch detail:

Installation is pretty easy too. First remove the fender braces from the core support, remove the hood rubber bump stops, and any other parts bolted to the top rail of the radiator support (hood pins):

From there just slip in under the header panel on one side, and under the lip on the fender:

Then lay it down to the other side and lightly flex the panel to get it to slide under the lip on the other fender:

When installed correctly, it will be under the header panel and under each lip on the front of the fenders:

For those who have modern day PT stuff like electric fans and alternators you are done. Just re-install the fender braces, hood pins or bump stops and you are good to go.
If you are old school like me, you will need to cut the panel to clear the fan shroud bracket, and the voltage regulator; 2 minutes with a silver sharpie and dremel tool took care of my need clearances:

I'm sure it would look even better if I had a smooth firewall, our new CF inner fenders, and the LSX engine in there, but for now it gets the job done.

We have these in stock for $349 plus shipping in Satin and Glossy carbon fiber finishes.

Best looking panel I've seen.

My problem is that it looks like it might have problems with the Fesler BB Fender Braces. The Fesler BB braces curve and join the radiator support at a sharper angle that the SB straight braces.

Looks Great Tyler..

Thanks for the kind feedback; we felt the closeout panels currently offered were lacking styling. The ones we saw were mostly just flat panels and didn't really improve the feel of the engine bay detail.

Regarding those braces-
Triangulation (aka bracing) should not have curves in it; that defeats the intended purpose. We didn't try this panel with stock braces either, but I think that the panel could be trimmed to work with factory or Twist Machine braces. Bonus- our fender braces start at an economical $89 per pair.

I like how it covers up the top of the radiator support but allows access to the front of the support for remote mounted resorvoirs. Hmmmm, no carbon fiber on my car but that may change soon.

Looks really good. Any ETA on the CF inner fenders?

69 Inner fenders are in stock in both 100% carbon, and carbon/fiberglass; we have the satin and glossy finishes in both units.

Don't forget, kids, you can always paint carbon fiber any color you want. :D If you want to leave a little carbon fiber exposed you can mask it off and paint the rest for a custom graphic treatment. All you need to do is block out the part with 320 sandpaper, then finish with 400-600. Just enough to give the paint a little "tooth", but not too much to show sand scrathes when you're done. Clearcoating the whole thing when you are done will keep it looking good and is highly recomended for partially exposed carbon areas. All of Anvil carbon fiber parts aleady have a clear coat on them with UV protection, but if you sand through it, you will want to use a clear with UV inhibitors in it.

That's what I was thinking Matt. Carbon fiber really doesn't fit my theme.

But it would look sweet if you painted the closeout black and left the word Payback in bare carbon. Think about it.

Operators are standing by.

As soon as my wallet is done being chapped by this engine build we'll make a deal.

Has anybody tried it with the Fesler braces? I don't see why it would not work.
