I apologize for being a little late over here, but wanted to share my 2010 project WarPath with you all... The car will be a 1973 Trans Am with a full carbon fiber front clip, doors, and trunk lid. It will be styled in the "1970's Trans Am Racing Series" format and have a minimalistic interior, a 440 dry sump pump gas Stroker motor coupled to a Keisler T56 Dog Box transmission and full Air Tech suspension....
Perhaps the coolest thing about this whole car is that it became a focal point that cause a few of my pro-touring friends to come together in an effort to raise funds for Alzheimer's at this years events.... I hope you like the car and I hope to see you at events where we will be raising money.

Sweet concept and great approach on the awareness cause for Alzheimer.
Would be a great informative thread in regards to mold/process of CF panels for those interested, if your willing.

I"ll see how we do as the panels are being done between my shop and a friends shop..... We're preparing the panels as plugs and he will lay up the molds off the panels at his shop that is an hour away from me here in Toronto...

Thanks for the plugs guys, glad you like it.
This car is near and dear to me, not only because I want an early 2nd gen bird BAD, but I have a close relative that suffers from early stages of that horrible disease. I was thrilled just to play a small part in this...thanks for giving me the opportunity to be involved Albert. I have no doubt this is gonna be a fantastic build and hopefully a great asset for the cause!

Tazzz,
Your T/A is gonna be awsome! I love the color. I'm having my '71 done at G-Force Design right now. LS7, T-56, Baer, and Forgeline. Since your making molds, are there gonna be carbon fenders and hoods available  I hope.

Thanks & you bet,,,,, they will be available through Anvil Auto and most likely ready for the late Spring 2010.... We have the WarPath,,, and a friends Lucy blue on blue 71 TA the had the nose tapped that will be featuring the first two Carbon front clips... just give Matt or Tyler a call and I'm sure they'll be happy to keep you in the loop.
I saw your posting and commented on the thread I believe... It's so cool to see so many TA's getting done 2010,,,, We're all gonna have a great year together and I know I'm really looking forward to it...
I also note the T56,,,, are you going to use Shafi Keislers (Keisler engineering's) new T56 dog box transmission??? It's way cool and worth getting to know about,,,, I'm using it in Warpath.

Killer rendering! Never thought I'd see CF doors and fenders. Thought they were structural for these cars.

The car will be caged and the doors while manufactured will not be sold for road use without a cage that includes side impact bars/device.
WarPath is a show build meant to be driven,,,, and driven she will be!!! That said I fully want everyone on the board to know "Safety" is first in both Matt and I minds.... We will market the doors as a "off road" product meant for competition cars that have secondary safety protection to protect drivers... While it has not been finalized, we considered having anyone purchasing the doors sign a wavier prior to finalizing the sale as we feel it would be crazy to even thing of running these doors without a safety side impact bar at very minimum...

if going to all the trouble to make carbon fenders, would it be worthwhile to widen them slightly, as shown in the fat bottom thread? (http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=23832)

Albert,
Not to many consumers spend the time or realize the impact damage between CF and metal. Yours and Matt's thought process towards a safe production piece and its liabilities is huge IMO.

Chris, thanks for all the help while out in CA buddy.... It's great to have you on board with the WarPath project and I'm very excited with the prospects of our future combined endeavors on the mentioned parts as well as the non-mentioned parts...
Chris is an exceptionally talented rising builder that will certainly show us all some terrific products in the near future!!!!

Hi thanks for the interest and sorry not updating ..... I've been traveling and attended the Optima Ultimate street car challenge in LA but now that I'm back here is the latest overview/news on the build....
The stock sub-frame is in the fabricating shop for major modifications and the car will follow on Wednesday.... Some of the mods will include moving the motor down and back within the car and the addition of DSE mini tubs.... We will be lightening the sub-frame and this will be followed with a Kevlar & Carbon fiber wrapping for a little additional strength,,, however it is principally for aesthetics.....
The interior of the car will receive a cage and the additional floor and firewall mods prior to being sent to our body crew....
T&M auto will be provided another mule/car that I own to to begin mocking their full on custom interior panels that they will be simultaneously worked on at their shop and that will be fitted into WarPath at a later point in the build...
The full "Air Tech" engineered suspension system was delivered in my absence and we will be mocking the suspension on the car upon completing the sub-frame and mini tub mods to the base shell...
Lastly, the Carbon fiber plugs are finished and the molds are being made as we type....
I will attempt to start posting photos of the build later this week and as we start to really thrash at this car over the next few months I'll do my best to keep you all up to date with photos....
Again thanks for the interest....

Albert we have been working hard on getting these frame rails done for Warpath!! JME Enterprises will be paying us a visit in the next couple of weeks so that we can get his Pro Series suspension between the second gen frame rails.. I figured I would tease you with some of the results we have so far

Ive spoken with Julio on this in the past and glad to see his version of the C5/C6 finally going into production. Ring Brothers website has a couple of installation photos of the JME mustang version that came out a couple of years ago on one of there ongoing projects also. Don't know to much about the performance levels but it sure is a Bad A!#* looking product.
Top notch build Albert! Hats off to Chris!

We all know that second gen's have some pretty damm heavy doors & creates door sage which cause pins to wear out.. Well.. We decided to doo some billet door hinges for second gen's with some improvements!! We are elimnating the factory detent system on the hinge & upgrading to late model chevy truck system detents that mount on the door jams.. Stainless pins with oil impregnated bronze bushings a bit stronger than the factory one's
