Man, I wish I could catch it, but I have DirectTV. Any chance of getting clips or highlights off of the official site?

I'll keep the board posted whenever we feature something relevant to the Lateral-G crowd. In fact, I'd like to work the site into the show somehow... this is a cool site with great cars and helpful people.
I have been told that they're working a deal to try to get the channel carried on DirecTV, but I have no details on the status.
We have worked an arrangement with Dish, however, that lets a person sign up for Dish - V8TV is a basic channel, no upgrade needed - and they'll completely refund the startup fee and pay an extra $10 back. I'm not trying to sell Dish packages, but if anyone's interested, it's not a bad deal. Emial

Thanks,

Hey Mr. Horton!
I'll see if we can do a short re-cut highlight reel on the v8tvshow.com site. I can't run the full segment because of our network contract, but I'll see what I can get away with. I'll post it here when it's up.
Keep up the good work!

Kevin, just let me know if I can help out. It sounds like a great idea to me. :lateral:
Scott - thanks for the offer. Well, first off, how about a link exchange on the websites. Next, I would love to see if we can put together some kind of event in 2006 where we could get a bunch of member cars together and shoot a whole V8TV episode! Maybe something at a road coarse somewhere. Any thoughts? Let's toss the idea out there and see what people think would be cool!
In addition, we'll have to post our new project for 2006... we're building a "real guy" '69 Camaro rag with Royal Purple. There's a short piece on our site about it... I'll see if I can add it to the project list. We're doing the whole car on the show and it's going to be at SEMA 2006. Gen III small block, lots of tubular stuff, 6 gears, slick look, cool wheels... simple and buildable by anyone with moderate $. We're doing a Build Book with Team Killeen on the car, as well as porting some content to eBay Motor's Dream Garage... details on all that to follow. We'll undoubtably turn to this forum for insight, advice, and a place to vent throughout this project!

There is a thread on here about having a Lat-G event with different events to separate the "racers" from the "posers" :_paranoid I 'll have to find it. That would be a great event to cover for TV.

wow I have never heard of it and that is because I am always in need to watch more car shows. I have Dish network, what is the chanel number for the Mens Chanel?
V8TV is found on The Men's Channel - that's 218 on Dish. Our website has the schedule.
As for a Power Tour shoot, it may be a good place to get many people together, but keep in mind that it is an event that belongs to a different media company. I remember in the days when I used to produce Hot Rod TV and another magazine or media company would come and cover the event they'd get a little uneasy about it. Especially since they've trademarked Power Tour. I always looked at it as increased exposure for the event... why not try to get it covered by as many means as possible? Anyhow, I have a good relationship with the people at Hot Rod and Primedia... I'll see if they have any issue with us shooting there for our show.
We should also come up with a plan "b" just in case.

A little insight on Kevin Oeste being a G-machine fan. This is not something he is saying because it is the latest craze. I first met Kevin on Power Tour 2001. We drove the Red Witch that year. Kevin came up wanting to shoot the car, knew all about it from back in 96 and I think he even said he had a pic of it on his wall or desk. His wife Kelle is also part of the production team and probably the smarter one. She is alot better looking than Kevin also. Along with John Gust(Johnny Horsepower) they are a very likable team of car enthusiasts. There are production companys that are users that only care about churning out a show and there are folks like V8TV that really are into cars. These are the folks you want to succeed. Now lets work on figuring out a way to make their lives miserable......
Good stuff, Charley.
Kevin, you have a PM.

How about the Midwest F Body track rental in April at Road America? There have been several members of the PT/G Machine community at that event in the past including Jeff Schwartz with the Cadillac and the Ultima, Andrew B., Cam Douglass among others. Johnny Hunkins and Jim McIlvaine have covered the event before as well.
There is always a good mix of old and new iron at the event and it would be close geographically for the V8TV crew (I think) and not too bad for Scott and others.
I plan to have my 67 completed and ready to run there after a year's absence.
Just a thought.
Wow Charlie - thanks for the plug, I owe you another car feature!
Those are truly kind words. Kelle's got everything in order, so things are looking good!
That Midwest F-car event may be a good plan. Ideally, we shoot there and the Tour. Hmmm.

Kevin for us dishless folks...can we buy DVD's of the show?
Hey RadRambler!
Thanks for the encouragement. In our case, we are real car guys, and we understand that real people only have a small amount of time in the day to enjoy thier passions. Between working, family, and daily life, there's often little time to play with cool cars - or much less to watch TV. So keeping this in mind, we have to respect the enthusiasts' leisure time and give them something that they want without false drama or a constant sales pitch.
We like cool cars; we like to learn how to make them faster, better, and more agile; we like to see how things are done; we like to see what others are doing... and we don't have a zillion dollars to blow on projects.
We've got some cool projects coming up... the Royal Sport Camaro is our main nod to the interests of those on Lateral-G; Nick Scavo is finishing up his new 200+ mph C4 bodied 10.5" tire twin turbo drag car... we'll be brining you some 2000hp tech from that one; our '65 Chevelle project is just getting going... and we're up to our elbows in a tubular front suspension / powered steering box conversion for full-size 1960's Fords. Just some teasers.
Anyhow, we appreciate the support. DVDs are available for around $15 each. I'll post a list of episode topics on the site to make it easy to pick. We've got another 10 web features going up in the next week or so.
OK... I've got to head out to the shop and hang more insulation... it's getting chilly here in the Midwest!
Thanks,
- KO
