So I'm in putting the car back together so I can paint my racing strips on the car. I originally bought a platinum silver color to do the racing stripes in and now that I'm seeing the color on the car I'm thinking some sort of pearl white might look better on the car with this green. What does everyone think?

Platinum metallic silver
Pearl White

I really think the pearl white will be too bright againt the green. Or rather that specific green is too bright for the white to look good with. I hope that make sense. I think a darker metallic silver would look good on it. Maybe even black?

i had thought about black but I think black would just be to strong of a color for the green.

I didn't think about black, that would look sweet too. Or as also stated a slightly darker green (like ghost stripes) would be sweet also. You got your work cut out for you....those are tuff choices.

What color interior? what finish are you going with on the wheels?

Without knowing those things, I second the vote for black.

This is my delema, I was going to accent the interior and wheels off the silver stripes.

W/ Platinum Stripes I would go with a black interior with the silver accents and the wheels would have a polished lip with the center painted silver

W/Pearl white stripes I would go with a peanut butter color interior and the wheels would have to be a polished aluminum

W/ Black Stripes Obviously I would go with black interior and the wheels would obviously be black or partially black

My wife had said use black but I thought maybe the black would be to dark. God why can't this be easy....lol I thought I had it all figured out.

Darker silver/metallic grey stripes, match the wheel centers to it, black interior with some of the strip color accents, polished lip on the wheels.??

This was my original plan for the car exactly what you just said, and I have thought about this for the last couple days and I'm going to stay with the silver for the strips I will post pics shortly. thanks for everyone that posted a reply with your opinion.

That color looks so good, I would actually hesitate to put stripes on there, especially the same old twin SS stripes with the 1/8" outline. Not cool enough for that car IMO. As far as color and stripe selection, you're making a strong case for hiring a designer to sort out the color and maybe throw you some ideas outside the box but my vote is a silver if you can't live without stripes. If you want to see it on paper, let me know.

I'm wondering how it would look with black stripes with silver edges? I also agree that it might be a good time to consult someone with knowledge of color combinations.

How about flat black.

What about a green ghost stripe...something just a hair off what you have. Subtle but there. That would allow you to go with whatever interior and wheel choices you want but still give you the racing stripe feel.

SEMI Mat Black -- not flat black - and not glossy either.... just flatten the black so you have some neat contrast.

Two tone interior -- rich caramel brown with black accents. Paint the dash the green or maybe the window trim - and flat that out too... so it doesn't "glare". Mercedes "WEAVE" carpets - with the base of caramel - with black fibers woven in....

No opinion other than that.

Sorry semi mat black your right not flat black. I think a green dash would get real old real fast. Thats my 2 cents from a new guy.

Well I decided on staying with the silver. But the strips are on hold right now. I took a few guys advise and I'm having one of the site artists draw me up a few options and renderings of the car.

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout!!

Good choice! Better to see it - live with it a bit - then go for it knowing that is exactly what you want.

Smart!

well I have gotten a few renderings from Jason, I gave him free rain on what to draw and it was almost like he's known me forever and new what I was thinking.

Thanks for the endorsement, the business, and the open mind, Dennis. You're really easy to work with and make it easy to throw around different ideas!

Happy wife: happy life! But seriously, it's nice to have her put in a vote and I don't think you'd have shown her if you weren't thinking that way already, right?

A happy wife is definately a good thing and I did ask her opinion since I was torn between two of the drawings. So her opinion solved the dilemma...But I'm still in control of the build..
