My main project is as some of you know ,a 1971 RS camaro but I am also doing some upgrading of my wifes '02 WS6 Trans Am.I've already done quite a few induction mods and have parts for an exhaust (true duals) upgrade.My problem is that the extra power already gained from the mods I have already made to the engine have brought out a few deficiencies in the factory suspension.I already have the parts to improve the front, but the torque arm in the rear seems to be less than optimal.I am thinking about convreting to a 3 link style with an adjustable Panhard bar.What would be the problem with using a 3rd link of around 18-24 inches and possibly a little shorter?I am having issues with pinion angle and I would like to have more room in the driveshaft tunnel for exhaust mods as well a little more adjustibility.What does anyone have to say?

Have thought about SPOHN,BMR, S&W racecars for there tubular torq arm? What are you planning on doing with the car? road race,street,drag race? Go over to LS1Tech.com and do some reading. There are a ton of guys on there doing every thing imaginable with the fourth gen f-bodies. If you are breaking stock transmisson mounts then you need to get a torq arm like spohn or any after market one that has a seperate mount and pivot piont beside the transmisson mount. I have broke more than I car to remember before I went with a urethane mount. Then I added a tubular torq arm and mount to my 95' Z-28. Most aftermarket one have adjustable pinion angles. as for the adjustable pan hard bar..Jegs sales a bracket that drop the bar down for lowered cars,I have one on my car and it helped. They also sale an adjustable panhard bar,which I also have.. i wouldnt give up on the torq arm set up. There are more than a handful of guys running them both on the road course and the drag strip.

It sounds like you need an adjustable torque arm to correct your pinion angle and prevent pinion movement. With the factory torque arm we have seen up to 8 degrees of pinion angle movement with a typical 4000 rpm launch in a mildly modified car. Usually if the car is driven hard at all the torque arm will have a permanently set 2-3 degree positive (upward) pinion angle due to the OE torque arm deflecting so many times. We make an adjustable tubular torque arm (http://www.bmrfabrication.com/torque%20arm/TA001.jpg) that bolts directly in place of your OE piece. The tubular version is much stronger than the stamped OE piece and will easily solve your pinion angle problems.

If you are having trans mount problems we also make transmission crossmembers (http://www.bmrfabrication.com/misc/TCC006.jpg) that relocate the torque arm mount off the transmission. The above mentioned torque arm and crossmember has been tested up to 1200 horsepower.

To make room for your dual exhaust, most people route both pipes down the passenger side in the tunnel. We make a panhard rod relocation kit (http://www.bmrfabrication.com/phr/Uphr-installed.jpg) just for this that will allow room for dual 3" pipes over the axle. This is a very popular part and is a bolt-in kit also. Kooks builds a true dual exhaust for this application based around our PHR relocation kit.
