View Full Version : ASP 70 Firebird mega build.....AKA "Blackbird"

We just started on a real cool build. It is a 70 Firebird.
SICK body mods....
The roof will be a "reverse mowhawk"... or recessed roof panel.
Custom front chin spoiler
Custom hood scoops (just more pronounced than stock)
Custom vent scoops on the front fenders
Custom rear quarter flares that tie into the custom rockers
Custom rear diffuser
Custom center exhaust

IForged wheels
Ford 9 inch
DSE control arms
Ricks tank
5 speed manual trans
Willwood BBK
coilovers

Butler Performance AI2 block bored and stroked to 454 cubic inches
Bullseye turbo's 66mills
Fast EFI
Custom ASP twin turbo kit

Its going to be real sick. 3 individual throttle bodies... intercooled...ect.
The interior will be pretty simple and very "street fighter" with a leather roll cage, seats, and some harnesses.
We will start the body mods very soon... the car is in the shop. The mini tubs...floor... ect are virtually already done. The block and rotating assembly are on the way to the shop... so this project should move along very nicely.
Here is a rendering showing what it should look like. The lighter shade was done so it is easy to see the body mods.....

So far the only changes from the rendering are black moldings...

Enjoy.

Nope.... its a local customer.
However... Dyrdek's car is back to get a full treatment. Gloss black paint, new wheels, LS7, all new interior..ect. I'll start a new thread for that one in the next week or two.

(not trying to highjack the thread)
Any pics of the wear and tear on Dyrdek's car- paint and stuff? Just curious to see how it looked before you started to tear it down?

I was looking at this thread last night while sitting around watching tv with the family. My ma looked over at my computer and said, "Damn, thats a hot car!" you have to understand, my mom thinks muscle cars are guido and hates them, this is gonna be one sick car!

sick car...
with that being said. i think the rear sides behind the tires need a lil something. you should make a small skirt of some kind to tie in the rear diffusor and qrt. the side skirts flow nice then you get to the lower rear edge of the qrt panel and it doesnt match. just my $.02

We haven't torn it down yet... still waiting for that first form of payment. :_paranoid
Its sitting under a car cover right now.
His car is good example of how NOT to take car of satin paint. The folks that worked on it for him must not have put any protection on the fenders when leaning on them...(lots of scratches)...
The leather Rogue Status provided us with...(luggage leather) to wrap the seats and door panels in... is all sun faded.
The motor is still in great shape... as well as all the mechanicals.
Matter of fact... his motor and trans (Procharged 383 making over 600hp) and Air ride.. will be coming up for sale soon if you guys know any one interested.

Josh, looks like another nice one on the way. Your grocery list so far is killer and stepping out of the box a little bit on the rendering looks good. Love the recessed roof although Im bias on that, we have similar tastes.
