umm... no! Won't knock you for being a Chrysler fan, I am a fan of all American Iron, but Ford in the 60s and 70s did some pretty cool stuff with European companies and the Pantera is damn cool. Chrysler? No. Chevy? No. And keep in mind that tho' Lola's and so forth used engines there was no specifically designed and sold to the public item like the Cobra and Pantera from the other two (that I am aware of) and if they exist, clearly they made an impression if I can't recall them :lol:

So when you say "Not intended to be a supercar, the big block chrysler powered Jensen's were well ahead of their time" that is exactly what I meant - the Jensen was not memorable, can be lumped in with the likes of the Edsel as being before their time, etc. Nothing against Chrysler and certainly not the hemis.

The Jensens were cool from an engineering standpoint and I agree about the AWD one being great (I didn't know it was designed by Ferguson tractors so that was a cool tidbit from your link). I was aware of that car, just didn't lump it in with the likes of a Pantera, Cobra, and the Sunbeam Tiger that was mentioned in that link (with the 260s/289s). I don't think you will find too many guys that had Jensen Interceptor posters on their walls :_paranoid

Bakaruda - "I still say it would just be another Pantera if it had a 351 in it", is like saying a pro football player is just like any other pro football player, as tho' that is somehow easy or not significant. I get your point, but your original post downplays the Pantera as the best thing about that car was the hemi, which was my point of response ;) Having built a number of engines for Panteras and getting to drive a few of them, the Pantera is a pretty awesome car given it was built in the 70s (US cars).
