It finally happened! I dont start the new job before 1. march, so first check is 1. april.... and i saw myself forced to sell the 32 ford roadster.... (and the 66 impala, but thats ok.. really it got a good home) But i lay sleepless over the ford! i spent over a thousand hours on it, built and engineered everything, and now its gone.... didnt think i could miss a stupid thing that much. but in the end i kept the malibu as it had 4 seats, windows.... locks etc etc.. stuff you dont find in a stack-injected, big block powered, manual shifted.. full independent suspension 32 ford.... :willy:

sometimed i could sell the wife just for having suggested it first.. but the bame is mine in the end....

so i need another project this spring.. somthing that is not too expensiv eto get into, and is labour intensive...

how does a slammed, flat black, custom suspension/integral frame/rollbar 48 hudson sound?? perhaps with a turbocharged 300-6 ? (have all the turbo stuff) sound?

and what should i change my screen name to...
"The idiot formerly known as deuce" ?

That sucks. Sorry to hear about that.
Try to stay positive. Everything happens for a reason, I tell myself.

 I like it!

Don't beat yourself up too much. You did what you had to to survive and keep a roof over the head of you and your family and food on the table. You did all of this without looking to your neighbor and demanding he some how be responsible for your survival. I think you desrve a good pat on the back and reassurance that you did the right thing. You can always build a better car that you may like even more.

Only two things to say (instead of my usual full page...):D

Cars are like busses -- there is another coming by every 15 minutes.

This is supposed to be a "hobby"... so think about all the fun you had
and all that you learned doing the '32...

your'e an idiot.....

Can you just feel the love?

You did what you had to do with the car. Family first, toys WAY later. You did the right thing. Another car will come along and someday you will feel better about the one you sold.

"The idiot formerly known as deuce"!

This thread actually really helped on my down mood.... ive been looking at a couple of "what ifs" and there are still nice projects out there... it will have to wait some months but it will be some "pro kruzin" car, ie chopped 49 ford with suspension, they can be had with chop, less interior for 2 grand.. and with alot of time and welding it could be just as cool as a deuce, and perhaps even alittle more unique....

anyway, thanks for the uplifting words guys

You're not alone in that boat. I like to use it as motivation for the next one.

Sorry to hear that you had to part ways with your ride. For what it is worth, I think anything that is "slammed, flat black, custom suspension/integral frame/rollbar" would be cool. If it isn't too painful, post up some pics of the deuce and some specs so we can see what you had built. I haven't sold a car due to work, instead, I haven't bought a project due to work. I don't have the money or time and that isn't going to change any time soon so I have talked myself out of buying several project cars until my situation changes.

Have fun with the next build, make it cooler/better than the deuce in some way.
