We are making alot of one off prototypes for some of the builds here @ the shop.. We did these coil relocation pack brackets for LS7 coils & have them also for LS2.. Value your guys opinion! Tell me what you think :_paranoid
Working on LS valve covers!

those look good to me.
I just wish gm didn't have so many coils all different shapes.
I make some also. I sell them on e-bay. I had some request from guys to make one that fits the truck coils with the heatsink. They give out a ton more spark that the standard LS2 LS7 coils. I just made one that mounts the truck coils should have them soon. You should look at making some of those also.

Hmmm, very interesting. Relocating my coils is one of the things I want to do this summer. I don't have room behind my heads to mount them there, so I've been thinking about following Shipka's lead and mounting them under the radiator on the core support.
The other option I'm kicking around is just selling the carbon fiber valve covers and going with a set of Katech valve covers with coil brackets.

How about someone make a tall alum or CF valve cover with a removable inset cover that will allow you to mount the coils inside a compartment in the top of the cover - sorta like DSE and Rad Rides did ?
That's pretty slick, but I guess I'm not too wild about that direction for whatever reason? I know there's also a company that makes a billet VC that has a compartment built into it for the coils.

I've seen them and they don't have the right look IMO - too short, too machined and too smooth. I like the canted style used by Katech and GMPP. I don't know what the heat would do to their operation. I have hear/read some threads that say using longer coil wires and relocating the coil decreases the performance. Not sure how much or if it's detrimental.
(I also like the Katech VC and coil standoff - Penny and OLC both look purposeful)
Sorry for the hijack Gonzo !

I like the Katech valve covers myself. They are real clean looking.
But still not much of a fan of the wires coming over the valve cover.
Here is the article about the truck coils being much more powerful than regular coils incase anyone wanted to read up on it.

mounting them on the back of the head is just one option they can be mounted just about anywhere.
I had one customer mount them on the firewall down low and one customer mount them in the cowl where the wiper arms go.

It's just the plug wires that are run throught the valve covers on the 572 that is on the DSE project. The tops are not removable, it's just a fixed screen. All that was done in order to hide the wires.

I think I will limit myself to LS2 & LS7 for now.. but thanks for the info..
I like your coil mounts

IMO that's one of those deals that's great for a show stopper but not a car that's driven.

I like the Shipka's coil packs mounted under the radiator support.. That is what drove me to make my own but ended up mounting them in different location.. The Katech valve covers with coil brackets look damm good to.. Can't go wrong with either choice :D
My valve covers will have fins & cross flags :unibrow:

I have the pic saved from last year when I was shopping for valve covers, but can't remember who makes them. I know I saw pictures of them on a green 67/68 protouring Camaro though.
I've got a set of 96z28ss' relocation mounts and I'm happy with the way they cleaned up the look under hood.

I think those were from Abear Motorsports. I read on one the boards that they closed up.

I believe Tyler made these--if I remember correctly----these are on EVADE--Bill's car--I know he is running a Speedtech frame on his---it looked really nice--
Scott, not sure if your's could be packaged same way since I believe you have the Wayne Due sub----but I always thought this was a really clean way to run them--wire length isn't bad and routing should be pretty clean.
I like all the designs presented here thus far--it sure is nice to have options.

Hey Bob, I know it's an older thread but I'm interested in a set of these. What else is required to complete the install?
Let me know,

Are these designed to bolt to the LS heads? I need something to mount truck coils on a BBC with the GM tall cast aluminum valve covers.
