Well, the Camaro bug bit me again this weekend at the swap meet in Moultrie. I went up there with plans of purchasing a second gen Camaro, but everything there was junk or way over priced... Looked this 69 over numerous times thoughout the weekend. But his price was just way too high... Sunday morning I made him a offer of what I thought it was worth and we made a deal later that afternoon! Got him down 10K from what he was asking... So I drove the car home!!

Car is a California car, all original sheetmetal. Still have yet to run the numbers to verify for sure, but car appears to be as presented, a real RS/SS car! All the right things are there and from my little bit of tag knowledge it appears correct. Car was bought because it's laser straight, new interior, perfect chrome and trim! I wanted a car to bolt some parts on and run this summer at the Goodguys, RTTH and others. We'll be doing full suspension, brakes, tires and wheels, Vintage Air, Keisler 5-speed and some other little things over the next few months.

Basis of the project is to show folks that it doesn't have to be a super high end custom build to get out there and run with the big boys!!

Specs as she sits now
-12 bolt rear with 3.73 gear
-Hotchkis 2" drop leafs and shocks
-Hotchkis front and rear sway bars
-Qa1 front coliovers
-20/18" Foose wheels
-12" 2 piston wilwoods on all 4
-new deluxe houndstooth interior
-built 396 with a lot of internal goodies
-Turbo 350 trans (the first thing to go!)

Here is the only pic for now, as it's raining down here. I'll get more up as soon as it drys up...

Ty's car is being wrapped up over the next few weeks. And then off to PRI and then home to him till the show season starts back up.

The 69 will sit on the back burner and be driven and enjoyed for a month or so till I get caught up

Ah ha.... I thought Ty's car only needed a radiator hose and fuel lines... and it was "done". Figured that would be done by now...

After working so much for the seven weeks prior to SEMA, we as a shop took off for week. There quite a few little things to do to Ty's car. Fuel lines, rad hoses, wire guages, finish A/C system, etc. We will have it done shortly, but lately I've been dedicated to my family.

Should have it back right after we film the PowerBlock in January...
I could get it back after PRI next month but then we have to run up to Nashville in Jan, so I figure I might as well leave it with Chad and give him more time to enjoy the family over the holidays...

This is the nicest car I've ever started with. I'm not changing the outside appearance besides the wheels and brakes. Most everything will be underneath and under the hood

Not crazy about the bumperettes or the wheels but I know you'll change those! Can't wait to see the "after" photos of this thing when you've finished putting the Fletcher's Customs touch on it my friend!!!

I am glad you said the wheels were going. Other than that is is very sweet love the color combo.

I say we change the strip color from white to silver. What do you think chad? And ditch the seats. It needs something more modern.

fletcherscustoms
11-24-2009, 06:34 PM
I think I'm gonna change the seats to Arizen Racing with the houndstooth insert he offers

Wheels have been purchased!

they are Boze G-machine in 18x8 front and 19x10 rear, matte black centers with polished hoops. They had the best delivery I could find, and say 2 -3 weeks so I'm looking forward to seeing them shortly. Going to wrap them in some R888

The Boze wheels are very nice. I really like them. But the Rushforths are also very nice and can be had without the rivets if you like. I have seen the Rushforths both ways and they look killer with black centers and no hardware.

Just my .02:cheers:

those wheels will look great...hey your on a roll.heres an idea.get some local hot rodder who likes big blocks to drive the car , sell him the motor.
how about getting a pullout 6.0 ls motor from like lkq locally.ive seen them for less than a grand.use the big block cash for the wiring and fuel system, headers...i love spending other peoples money..
.....YOU CAN DO IT.....

I'm looking for a boss kit (i think you guys refer to them as hub adaptors) for my 68/69 camaro so i can run a momo wheel. What brand are you using? I already have one, but it doesn't have the right bolt hole pattern for the momo. Please send me a PM with the details.

BTW - Nice looking wheel.

Paint shows 8 of 10 easy. But if I end up doing the high end suspsension, brakes, and LSx swap. Then the paint needs to be freshened up also

Well the car left this morning headed towards Tampa to its new owner. So unless something changes when it gets there. I'll have to start over again and find another project. This car was honestly to nice to cut up, but the new owner is doing the full DSE treatment to it. SO its still gonna be one nice car

Yes Chad, I have all crisp greenbacks waiting here for you! I actually just saw this post, read the whole thing and now i'm even more excited to get this car. As for what all i'll be doing to it i'll keep everyone posted but I will say most of my intensions are on the same line as yours.

Chris,

You'll be happy with the car. A true survivor car!!! I've seen thousands of shells in the last 10 years. And to be able to find and count every factory spot weld is rare!! The underside of the car has never been sprayed with undercoat, just flat black primer. They don't come around often!! I know you'll do it justice
