I am getting ready to set up the suspension on my 67 Camaro and was wondering what the best tire wheel set up was for handeling. I like the look of 17 inch rims but want the car to grip the road. I have Global west front A arms with QA1's and am going to run the G-link setup out back. What combo of tires will give me the best handeling.
Thanks Guys!

For fantastic dry grip in warm weather a DOT legal road race tire like the R888 works very well. It also is so sticky it will through up rocks and sand blast everything around the tires if they stick out too far. Use a invisible rock guard to prevent your paint from damage. This also applies to most high performance tires. Especially if you want to run open track days.
When it comes to tires grip and life are usually inversely related. The treadwear on my R888s is (I think) 100. So don't expect them to last long.
The R888s do have some grooves for water but I have no experience with them in the wet or cold as I live in Southern California and don't drive my car when it rains. A 12 inch wide tire has a lot of water to move out of the way.
It depends on what you are willing to live with. I expect about 10,000 miles out of my R888s but since I drive my car about 2000 miles per year they should last me 5 years and then I should replace them due to age anyway.
Others here can tell you about the tires they run on their cars.
Make sure you have a proper alignment. A bad alignment will destroy a set of tires fast!

We install and sell more G links then anyone. You say "best" but the best can be judged on many parameters. Best thing to do is give me a call and discuss the package.
Here is a G Link we just finished
