I almost flipped when I saw that ad. Simply one of my favorite 69's. The detail in the paint and the simple elegance in which it was done caused me to ensure
I got a 69. I won't be able to get to that level but the trip will be blast. If only I could find a ski mask to fit my big head!

Very cool. I always liked that 69. That does seem like a good deal for both cars. Great way for someone to start a collection if you're a Dale Jr. fan.
I hope the sale goes well for them.

Looks like a good deal to the right person. I would have to think that nationwide race car is worth 100k , would make that 69 a bargin at 50k. The 69 really came out nice and was never intended to be a over the top build but more to appeal to the average person who might shop at a wal-mart or sam club. It was cool to build it from a rendering and see the finished product take shape day by day working with a great group of guys. Joe

What's interesting is that it's the first car built in-house at Jr Motorsports. I'm assuming that it carries serial number #001. I asked Kyle that question at SEMA, but he wasn't sure. To a race car collector, that's a very interesting race car - even if it is a Nationwide car.

Why don't they just run them at Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale in 2010 they should bring more by far with less hassle..... possibly or maybe not ?

It sure would be a blast on the open road track.

I have a customer looking for a camaro and i asked him if he would buy these cars, and he said what would i do with the other car. I told him give it to me.

The nationwide series is going to the COT in 2011, and will use them in some races in 2010. It probably won't bring top dollar, and if it has been used as a show car it likely has key parts that are really not worth a crap, ie timed out.

Never thought about that. I was thinking it would make a good HSRA piece.

the nascar rides werent going for as much as i thought at bj this year. this is #1 though, plus its jr. so its probably worth 100k to someone. 50k for the 69 seems pretty good.

The cars that bring big money are the cars that won. Sounds like this car was built to take on tour to Sams clubs along with the 69. It is too new to run the vintage stuff and if it was built to tour I wonder what drivetrain is in it. You can buy turnkey old Nascars for under 50K. I recently bought a 1999 Tony Stewart Home Depot car for open tracking but I can't run it with the vintage Nascar guys out here because they are something like 1985 and older. Fun track car though.

Very cool. I have never been in a NASCAR so I have nothing to compare it to. How do you like it on the track? Did they leave the full tilt NASCAR engine in it too?

'Fun track car' it must be for sure. Do you run it on a full road corse? Does it handle well? (turning both ways and all)

That is what I meant to say. Not HSRA but a track car. I have a buddy of mine that was a partner in the Tasman Motorsports Group that used to race all kinds of vintage stuff, Lola's etc. He sold it all and bought an old NASCAR to race and go to track days. He likes the fact that he can unload it, do a quick nut and bolt, gas it up and sit in the shade until track time. He rebuilds the engine once a year. He enjoys driving and not wrenching, so it was a great move for him. His car is absolutely bullet proof. I would bet he has a lot less than $50k in his. Said it is the most fun he has add behind the wheel!

Once he got it "sorted out" to go both left and right he said it's a blast..

I've had it to two track events so far. First one at Infineon is when I figured out someone wasn't telling the truth about it being set up for road course. It would only turn left. Sorted that out and ran it at Laguna Seca and it turned great but was chasing a ignition problem that turned out to be both MSD boxes were wired backwards. Now I just need mufflers, new plug wires, smaller steering wheel, talent and I am set. It is easy to drive, a great open track car that you feel very safe in. The down side is they eat front brakes and transmissions because of the weight. For anybody wanting a open track car they are a bargain for what it costs to build them. There are plenty out there for sale.
