Hey all,
Got another 69 were plumbing and a little fab work for owner Dave Bragg out of Lancaster CA. Were doing complete systems for fuel,brake,a/c,radiator, and hydroboost. Here's a few shots before things get sent out for plating and polishing. After the car is done I'll post a couple more to show how things look done.

Makes me want to write bad checks!
Mark -- I notice you welded on some male fittings... I built some A/C lines out of SS - (bad idea by the way - all it did was AC the headers)... and I didn't think about welding them (TIG)... I braised them on with a special flux and SS filler... Have you ever done this? I'm asking only as a "plus or minus" type question - strength - ease - or?
I think you should do "classes" -- I'd sign up!

Greg,
The A/C lines coming out of the condenser are silver soldered. That's the way they are designed to go together. Strength and ease? Couldn't be any easier.
I wish I could do classes too!!! I could charge up the yen yang like Ron Covell's metal classes and be a millionaire in no time. Then I can just build my own cars.

:
Good to know -- I was hoping that was the right thing to do... as it seemed to work well for me. However... I'm a DB!
I've learned to be "more careful" with the flux! Not letting it get on the tubing above the fitting makes a nicer polish job... It's the little things you learn along the way...

The rear tire is a Viper tire 345/30/19. I will have to ask the owner on the rim and size. He owns a rim and tire shop out in Lancaster.

Thought you guys would get a kick at what this stuff looks like out of the car before paint and plate. It never looks like this much when it's in the car either. And one naked shot of the engine bay with everything out.
List of what's on the table :
1: fuel system with return line
2: brake system
3: hydroboost system
4: a/c system
5: water lines
a) heater
b) radiator
6: breather system
7: clutch and radiator over flow lines
8: all hoses for each system
9 : all necessary custom brackets and hardware
10 : I think I got it covered ?
Nice work. But that does not look like any fun at all to put back together.:D

Here's a few updates. Things are looking pretty cool after the plater, polisher, and coater. Still trying to finish up the car. We endded up instaling a full cage also. Being a painted car that's been a little tedius and time cunsuming I'll post some pics of the cage when it's done. Also we got one of the center consoles from the Roadster Shop. We could have made it but at the moment it was just easier to order it. Besides I wanted to check out the Roadster Shops work (good job Phil) Thanks!!! Enjoy

Looks great Mark, What is the secret to getting stainless lines not to leak? I bought the best of everything and still getting leaks.
Thanks !! The secret is a good clean flare. Square cut and filled smooth. No burrs, no crap on the surface of the flare seat, and a good uniform flare. Is your tubing seamless? Some times just the littlest amount of crap on the seat will make you want to rip your hair out. So make shure it's clean !!

It's the stock switch above the pedal under the dash.

The clamps are anodized Billet specialties. We stock all the sizes if you need some. There polish is perfect for anodizing.
The tank isn't Ricks. I think it's Rock Valley. I made my own breather system. I welded S.S. fittings on the tank w/ about a 150 degree bend of tube on the inside of the tank and then baloni cut it so it's about a 1/4 inch from the top. It also has a little vent tube at the filler neck. Hope it works :_paranoid

You should know? Being a shop owner and wanting everything perfect comes with the territory. I got lucky with the plumbing. I worked at a hose and fitting shop out of high school and started doing side jobs. One thing led to another and now I have a shop named Bent. Butttttt in the middle of all that I love building cars. I figured if I have the patience for plumbing I might have enough left for some tin work cages and everything else in between. To put it simple I take great pride in what I do.
I wish it was a Yoder!! It was a Metal Craft power hammer I sold it last summer though. One of these days I'll get a Yoder or Pettingel.

I was told....whatever pic hosting site you use to link your pics to this site, the user usually changes something like his settings on the hosting site. Then the change will lose all links. I know the old Photobucket would prompt you and tell you that doing "this" (whatever the change) will erase all pics that have been linked. I don't know wht the new, piece of $h!t Photobucket will do...I hate it.

:thankyou: Al!
I've always enjoyed hiding the plumbing. I try and make the motors look like they don't run. Let the motor do the talking not all the crap around it. Because when you do see it ,it pulls you in for more. Also when you stand back and look at this particular motor. All you see is polish not realizing this 900+HP motor has power steering,A/C,heat,power brakes, and a vacuum pump. Would you have noticed all that if wasn't pointed out?
Keeping it simple is always the hardest to pull off.

your work inspires me to try harder. After my last build I will never use another inverted flare nut on my brake lines.
Lover your work.

Two more
ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE Mark!
Definatly something to aspire to mate!
What size fuel supply line are you using? I had to go with 5/8", but couldnt get a bender to do it so I had to make my own... 5/8: on a 3" radius, works a treat.
Thanks again man!

Thanks! That's where most of the time go's. It's not really the bending it's pulling a line in and out 10-15 times that's not fun. Just to hide it all. Go figure!
