Here's a new project we are working on-

It started as an overpriced- underrepresented ebay find- It's supposed to be a real 68 Z but the 302 is out of another Z and the protecto-plate is long gone...so instead of a 100 point restoration, we are doing the next best thing- cutting it up:_paranoid

The build is based around the idea that a guy walks into a Chevy dealership in '68 to buy a Z28 to go weekend racing. He loves to see the Trans-Am racing heros flogging thier cars but needs to keep his on the street for daily transportation- with a twist- he has acess to 2010 technology! :D

Everything Speedtech offers for a first gen will be installed. Both front and rear suspension systems, headers, body mounts, etc. Jason Rushforth will supply the wheels and rendering, We are installing DSE deep-tubs. Engine and trans will be an LS2 and T-56

enjoy:thumbsup:

yes it is an MO out of a different Z - somebody did thier homework and then comvered up alot of bad bodywork. It has the 12 bolt, muncie 4 speed, tach dash, cowl hood that looks original...

we are doing a flat hood with an cowl intake like the old 67's but custom made.

Jason might come up with a modern looking mini-lite wheel 19's and 18's

think there is any interest for them?

Cool project. I can't wait to see this one progress. A cowl plenum air intake will be very cool. I've been waiting to see a Minilite-inspired 8-spoke wheel in modern dimensions.

I had asked Jason about the mini lites @ the Goodguys Costa Mesa show.. He told me he had something close that he might be able to machine the centers for the wheels! I am intrested in the modern mini lites!!! :D PS Engineering has them in 17's.. I have a 69 Z arriving this week!! It is getting some modern handling suspension!! PS Engineering mini lites, cross ram 302, Road race Tremc 5 speed, JL8 brakes & much more :unibrow: We are auto crossing this car!

Just talked with Jason today about doing a three-piece mini-lite inspired wheel- maybe he can chime in. we are doing 18's and 19's. the 69 sounds like a sweet project- gotta post pics. - Chris

I cannot for the life of me remember the company name, but there is a 3pc minilite wheel, I think made in Europe, already out there and available if you are interested in searching around for an 18" package v. the 19". I had a link saved in favorites but can't seem to find it unfortunately as I love the minilite look and had Shelby copies of them on my 70 Mustang.

Chris,
Cannot wait to see what Jason comes up with for his take on the Superlites. Here are a few modern day superlites that I came across from a company in Australia called "Homologated Options". They built the wheels that are on the famous Ford Falcon Coupe owned by actor Eric Bana. These particular wheels are 18". I really dig the classic trans am style wheels but in larger diameters. Keep up the great work, and don't forget to upload pics so I can live my life vicariously through you.

Come on over- it's been too long! The wheel is at the programmer. We are going with some parts from Anvil, Baer 14 inch rotors and some other cool parts

right now I am in aligning panels and bodywork- not too exciting- just time consuming:D

finishing up the Camaro- affectionatly called "Redemption"- because it was saved from a bad ebay deal- so here's the update

It will be in the Meguiar's Car Crazy area for SEMA- today's my birthday, so I'm celebrating by finishing up the colorsanding.

Updates are a full leather interior, narrowed bumpers and lots of little details- better pics will come when I get it outside

35 hours until the car will be loaded up and headed down to Sema where it will be displayed on the Meguiar's Car Crazy Stage. Make sure to stop by and say hello. Here are some current pictures. The first picture shows the driving lights as well as the custom one of a kind book matched carbon fiber spoiler. These will be available for your project in the near future.
