Another one thats just starting to get good enough to show off,its a 69 dodge R/T Coronet, one of Tom Nelsons twin turbo injected 572 all alloy engines,XV motorsports suspension, some pretty trick sheetmetal work is assured in the engine bay etc etc,I fly out to Cal on wed to watch the engine dynoed at Nelsons then on to sema ,hopefully by the time Im home in Aus It should be there.

The car is an original B5 blue white interior white stripe car so we will have PPG mix a special pearl blend of the color for us,interior will be white but modernised but not to the point of losing its muscle heritage,Trans will be a BMR Mega torque 727 with gearvenders overdrive,we will be getting interior design done as we progress.

Cool concept. Just curious, and I'm no expert on chassis fab, but is it safe to have that much metal removed from the rear frame rails, especially at the high stress area at the top of an existing arch? I'm curious what the rationale is for removing so much. Are you adding structure on the topside? It looks like it could just snap in half with the quarter panels not far behind.

The cut outs wont effect the rear of the car at all everything will be tied into the cage when its fabricated.

You've got to be kidding me. That would be like having the hottest girlfriend/wife on the planet and never ...er...um.... "consumating" the relationship. As pretty as it is (can't believe I used that word for an engine) it needs to be flogged and flogged HARD ! If I had it, I'd run it like I hated it and attempt to get a 110% reading out of the TPS while my passengers screamed like little girls begging to get out.
In looking at the shot from the front, it just flat out screams MOPAR ! It looks like a very angry evil ram is coming at you , perfect for the Dodge it is going into !

you can achieve this same thing with a bead roller. You can also change the shape of the edge by using different dies. You could use a tank roll, 1/8" step die, 45 degree step die, pretty much the sky is the limit.

Very nice updates. Wow-looks great!
Question: In the first posts it appears you made new upper shock mounts for the front XV Motorsports suspension. Am I seeing this correctly and if so was this done to lower the ride height or for other reasons? I'm contemplating their front suspension for my project and their normal ride height has always seemed a bit high. I do realize your build is very low.
Any pictures of the rear suspension installed.

If you look at the mounts I fabbed they have both the original (XV) height holes and a lower set, Ill do the same on the rear when I get to that part .
This gives us the look we are after with the car but also we can put it back up to the height XV designed their suspension to run at,for when the customer wants to play.

Shane,
Thanks for the response on the front suspension. That is a great solution for the ride height. I still wonder if the XV front would physically fit Air Ride/Ride Tech shockwaves?
One of my favorite builds. I need to look at the Cuda you're doing also.

Looks like a Tom Nelson Twin to me.... and if so.... he has his TT's made so that they can be symmetrical (or whatever it should be called)... BTW -- NOT saying that you're wrong... cause I really don't know - but that looks like a TNR billet intake etc so was thinking maybe that the turbos are his "new" versions?

Wow, talk about eagle eyes! I wonder what would happen if one was making boost & the other was making vacuum. Who wins?

Assuming matching rpm and exhaust flow on each bank......basically you would have a naturally aspirated motor;)

Thank you guys sooooooo much for taking the time to take decent photos, upload them, assemble them into a great story, and patiently answer questions from us wanna-be builders...
Now I'm gonna go find that box of tissue and ....well clean my monitor of course!!!!

How are them making them, with hand drills and -files? been unaccepted long wait for them.

Downpipe routing, fresh way of thinking. I was thinking that
you will route them outside above the UCA but that is more cleaner way.
You have to shield them some how, after all they will glow yellow
/white. We dont want to burn the paint from the bonnet/ inner fender.
Now wont we? :) awesom job.

as an owner of a 69 Coronet and being just up the highway from this build, I'd appreciate all the left-overs please, and also if you could let me know which car shows this thing will be at I'd appreciate it.....so I know to leave mine at home!:(
Great build though, very inspirational, all I need is a huge bucket of money and even huger bucket of skill and I'm there!
PS: How do I get a job there, I make a mean cup of coffee and wield a fearsome workshop broom.

Super Nice, I love the stance, those are shop wheels or final ones?
Front view looks like an angry hitman!
In the front from radiator to grill look like pretty full, I bet you have (super cool) idea where to put IC or two?
Leaving inner front lights off ? I see holes for air to filters
Keep pic coming, please, please, please :D

Thanks! I've thought of machining some for our projects, but for what it is they'd be very time consuming. I found on Model A's theres a radiator strut rod bracket that bolts to the firewall with a stainless screw that looks like a rivet, but it's limited to the 10/32 size and you have to buy the complete bracket to get two of them!
Incredible work!

None with full lock and compression on the springs there is still 3/4 inch of clearance. The wheels on the car are not the wheels we will use were having them designed at the moment, so the final fitment will be better again.

Actually both,The inner looks too "busy" to me and the outer, well thats another story.
This is actually a hard car to build,in the fact of not trying to over power it with too much fabrication but keep it simple (well, as simple as a 1600 HP car could be anyway).
