Anyone attempted this or thinks it is possible, say using the gauge faces and mechanical guts also to make it a little easier!

Sure it's possible but be prepaired to make a bunch of custom pieces and spend lots of time. I put a 95 Firebird dash and console into an 87 Pontiac Fiero. Hanging the dash was the easy part. Making it look like it belonged there was the tricky part.

Pay attention to the transition from the back of the dash to the base of the windshield and the ends of the dash at the A-pillars. These are critical transition areas. Using aftermarket mechanical guts will simplify the electrical/mechanical/environmental gauges and controls but you still have to find room for everything.

Good Luck.

now after reading this, I'm going to have to look at my '69 Camaro and my '04 GTO when I get home and start thinking :_paranoid

I also have two more gauges in a pod in the center of my GTO dash because they didn't come stock with oil pressure or voltage gauges

Sam,
That looks awesome, I have purchased an '06 GTO interior and am looking forward to installing the seats, have you any advice on seat brackets. I would like to keep the power track feature and tilt etc.. Are you planning on installing the rear seat from the GTO, if so can you send me some info on what you had to do to fit it?
Thanks,
Greg

Thanks, Greg. What car is it going into? The GTO front seats were too wide to fit in my car. Some guys have made them work but for my purposes because the GTO console is wider than say a 1st gen console, I couldn't use the GTO seats. I went with BMW M3 seats. They are narrower and have a shoulder belt incorporated in. I will be using the rear seats though, but will have to modify them to make them fit.

That interior looks awesome. By the way, the GTO seats are to wide for my 68 vert. i am going with the m3 seats as well.

build over at pro-touring. I take it that you changed the guts out of the gauges and replaced them with some aftermarket stuff? Did you have the hvac controls modified to work with your Vintage Air?

Sorry to hi jack

No, the gauges are GTO. I used all the computers, i.e. pcm, bcm, and one other can't remember what it's called. The only issue I'm having is the DIC (driver information center) on the gauge cluster is giving me an ABS fault and Low traction fault. I don't have abs or traction control wired or installed, so I'm going to try and figure how to fool the systems. I was hoping to deleted them out when I get the engine tuned, but the tuner said it is in the bcm and he has no way to delete it. If someone has any ideas I'm looking for them.

The hvac controls were modified and adapted to work with the vintage air system.

Sam,
I am putting them into a 69 Camaro and using the stock console. I seen them in this car and they look great I think.

Those look awesome. I noticed that they have no power controls. Do you know if they still have the power?

They do not have power, they are removed so they sit lower and retain power recline only.
