I ran across this car out in the desert yesterday. Claims to be an all original California 350 SS Car. Sounds like they may let it go cheap. How much is this thing worth if it checks out? Pretty darn solid car I might ad....

Does it come with the mirrors on the fender or is the owner planning on removing them before he sells it? ;)

I seem to remember it having an SS hood but missing the chrome pieces. Not sure though. I just snapped some quick call phone photos. I wish I would have spent more time looking it over. Here are a couple more photos. If the price is right, I may just pick it up in the next couple weeks.

Deluxe interior, factory gauges, woodgrain wheel, looks like the factory tach. If the floors and trunk are solid you should probably grab it, especially if it has the original SS hood. No doubt someone is trying to track it down already.

The oil filler on the intake appears to be correct for a 67. It could be a numbers car. The deluxe interior is a plus. I wonder if it has a fold down rear seat? 4 speed too. If the price is right and you have the funds I say get it.

Nice thing about 67's, is the trim tag tells alot unlike 68's and 69's when it comes to certain options. Looks like a legit car based upon it does not appear to have been touched for years. If it is cheap, I would buy it

Looks like a nice solid car Todd. Some nice options. Looks like it has power disc's brakes by looking at the master which were 4 piston calipers. The big question is though is look for the 12 bolt and factory tracition bar. If it's there - JACKPOT!! These are bringing some coin! 1 year only in 67. GM corrected the problem in 68 by going to multi leafs vs mono's for 67.
Funny - I just stumbled across a rust free solid 68 SS/RS Orig paint car last weekend I pretty sure I'm going to buy. Heavily optioned like the you are looking at also.
Good luck!

Are those valve covers chrome?

Maybe....but how many people put those 20 dollar Mr. Gasket chrome valve covers on 350's. I talked to the land owner again today. He called and said he's still waiting on the owner to call. I now have some of the story of the car.
Apparently a couple bought a home in San Diego and the car was left behind in the garage. Supposedly it had been sitting for 20 years in the garage. They sent it to the land owner after he had done an extensive restoration on a 55 Chevy. They then decided they just didn't want to dump the money into the car to restore it. They then gave it to the current owner which is an employee of the previous owner. The current owner and his wife were out on the ranch 2 months ago and he didn't feel the love. He also said he fired it up one day and it ran ok. If the deals right, I'll take a motorcycle ride down on a day off and look it over really well. Get all the numbers and a ton of photos. If it checks out, I'll clean it up and make it run. Then it's down the road or in storage and we'll just call it a CD. :D

SS350's came with chrome valve covers, the chrome air cleaner lid and the chrome oil filler cap. Haven't seen one with the smog pump in years. You can see in one of the pictures it does have the ss hood - bracing and hole for the ornament are visible from the bottom. A 67 that original looking should be easy to decode.

Maybe if you can get a pic of the tag, the guys on camaro.net might have some real good insight/info on it. They have a sdection dedicated to trim tags.
Good luck bud!
