Watch for the build up to start in PHR early 2010. Let us know what you think and stayed tuned as we continue the progress. I want to thank all my friends who have been so supportive. I also wanted to thank Detroit Speed, Baer Brakes, Rocket Racing wheels, and Nitto tires for their interest in our project. Also a big thanks to Performance Restorations in Mundelein, IL for helping us with the installs. I hope you all like the project.

I'm very opinionated on this one. I'm happy that someone out there is thinking Olds. But I've always been happy that they haven't been on the market, it's cool to have something no one else has.
I hope PHR keeps the heart, and not put a chevy in it. (No offense) lol

Congrats Robert!
At least PHR got this pick right. I see most of the installs are being done somewhat local to our state. Its nice to get in the car and take a morning criuse to check progress. Dont change the two tone "mock" hardtop look, it makes the car IMO, which you propably agree with anyway.

Robert, my older brother had the same year/model--was his first car in high school. His was all white----I like the two tone look of yours. My bro sold his about 4 years ago--he held onto it for quite a long time. I was sorry to see it go, but didn't have space for it in my own garage. It 's very exciting to see this one, and the fact that it will be done right. I will imagine what could have been for my brothers. I will be following this one closely---really stoked to see you get this car and build it as you go along. Seems like a realistic build that will have my attention all the way through.

All the 64-72 Buick and Olds are sadly overlooked. These cars have nice lines and share the same platform. I am really hope this shows people that there are options. Chevelle's don't grow on trees anymore.

I love the B-O-P cars.
Many way to cool cars that very under represented.
I'll start working on one soon for a basic refurbishing. I hope they eventually catch on since relitively speaking they are pretty cheap compared to the Chevy's.

I'm really glad you are enjoying the build of this car. The wheels are Rocket Booster Greys. The fronts are 245-40-18 and the rears are 275-40-18. The wheel size are 18x8 which I believe are 4.75 BS. and the rear are 18x9 with a 5.25 BS. There was some clearancing in the rear inner ( on the outer side) fender well. In the front we had to remove the 3 upper fender well bolts and hammer the metal to pinch it and trim the wheel lip molding.

It's great you are staying with the Olds motor as well----that 455 will get the job done for sure. Have you had a chance to drive it with the mods yet? Night and day diff? The suspension and brakes were done late last summer, so yes I have driven it with those mods. I drove the car for about 4 months with old, tired, worn out stock suspension on 14" wheels. Now, it's a much different car. I've only put on about 150 miles with the rearend in. It's still in it's break in period. I'll have to baby it for while longer to break in the transmission. But It's about ready to rock. Should have the car running and on the road again by the end of the month. Just waiting on a couple of things. Thanks for your interest in the build. I hope you continue to follow it in upcoming issues of PHR.

As you see from the video the engine is in. It's running well and very strong. I'm looking forward to my first outing with the new drivetrain. The build up story can be found in June issue of PHR. In the meantime, here it is...

haha asside from that, like I posted on facebook, Im glad you kept it Olds powered... Torker intake, Edelbrock heads, "Mondello" on the pan, should be a nice package...Holley 750 or 800?

Driveability is good now. Very docile around town but it is a monster when you open the secondaries. I did consider it. Maybe down the line.
As for your earlier question, the exhaust story is to come.

Sorry for the delay in updates... Been a really busy end of summer and fall. The car is great and is tucked away for the winter. Some changes are taking place, but I wanted to update on some of the things we have done so far...
Thanks to Holley for the help with the the exhaust system and to the Roadster Shop for the installation. We got it to fit high and tight. They did an awesome job. Thanks Guys!

Project Olds is getting some updates over the winter. With the help of Brent Jarvis and the guys at Performance Restorations, we pulled the motor and sent it back to School of Automotive Machinists in Houston,TX. They wanted to check things over and make a couple of changes. I will update those later. But I was lurking on some of my Olds forums and found these babies for sale...

I wanted to thank Phil, Jeremy, Neal and the crew at The Roadster Shop for helping us diagnose and get the Olds back on the road. Thanks guys for taking the time out of your busy schedule to give me a hand. This is what I love about this community. When you need a hand, someone is usually willing to help. You guys rock. Thanks again guys.
Turns out the oil pump was way overkill for the engine, causing low pressures at operating temp. They found that it would make in excess of 150 psi cold. We went with a new pump and seems to be working fine. I drove the car home from their shop, 130 miles. Everything seems a ok. Looks like I'll get some time in the car after all.
