So I was caught in traffic right by a weigh scale and I decided to weigh my car.

It weighed 1570 kg = 3460 lbs.

This was without myself in the car and about 1/2 tank of fuel.

I thought the car would be a couple hundred pounds less but I have a full stereo in the back (box, amps, subs) and the car has full sound deadening under the roof skin, door skins and complete floor pan, firewall and door panels.

Not bad. I didn't know you could just cruise into those things and ask for a way. How did you convince them to weigh it, just ask?

I weigh my truck and travel trailer from time to time and I just stop in at a closed or un-manned weigh station....the scale is always left on.

Ryan, that's not too bad for a full dressed street car!

Probably not hard to convince at all when you have a cool car like that. You know how people are. They all had one "just like it" and want to talk to you for an hour about how the stock 327 would pull the front wheels!

Hey! That's svelte compared to my 56 Nomad @ 4023#'s

I have amps etc as well... a bigger (25 gal) fuel tank... and with the Ford 9" and the Meyer chassis (more metal than a stock one)... I guess it starts adding up doesn't it??!!!

Lift a couple of boxes full of Dynamat -- and that stuff REALLY adds up!

I weighed my 69 back in highschool. With a 355 and ST-10 4speed it weighed 3300 without me and full of gas. Had a stereo and full interior. Kinda surprised how light these cars are compared to new ones!

Usually they are busy during the day, this was late in the evening, when they aren't manned or being used.

We have scales on this navy base I placed my car on it and it was dead nuts on 3400. I did not think to look at the fuel level but I am sure it wasnt full:lol: I have amps and subs in the trunk.
