What size tire do you want to run? I've never seen a mini-tubbed A-body.

malitude was mini tubbed, no where near as "simple" as an f-body

Right now I have P245/60R15 on the car,and they are pretty tight. I had seen the artical in popular hot rodding about Malitude, and was woundering how they did it. I love the car, but I think it would look and perform better with bigger tires on it.

well... im goin from memory here, so i might not be 100% correct. as i recall he moved the frame rails inboard at about the wheel houses, then proceeded to do a "standard" mini tub on the wheel wells(cut and add)

this is a major undertaking, not for the faint of heart, i would almost suggest finding and alternate way of stuffing the tire in the room available. carefull backspace measurements, and possibly buldging the qtrs out a lil(64's are curved everywhere anyway, a compitent body guy should be able to "handle" it without it being noticable...been there done that  )

the last 64 i did was way low with 275 40 17 on an 8.5" wheel...dont remember the backspace.... the lower shock mount needed a lil rework to clear the wheel also(that might have been another car...i dont remember). the car also had the narrower rear, as i recall it made it a PITA finding the right offset.

hope this helps

I am doing one right now....it has a 295/40R20! Should have some pics up after SEMA it is tight but it clears by 3/4 on the inside and clears the quarter by 1/2 all the way around!

I have a 64 as well. (19,000 original miles) Would love to mini tub it but my jewels just are not big enough to make myself do it. Maybe another car would be a better choice. Malitude is just plain badass!

A 285/40/17 on a 17x9.5 wheel will fit the rear of a 64-65 w/o mods. How wide do you wanna go?

Not sure how wide I would like to go, but I love the way Malitude looked. I am thinking about moving the rear frame in about 2-3 inches. I'm also thinking about using a 9" ford in it that is narrowed about 2 inches.

Here are some shots of a 64 2-door wagon that had the rear framerails pinched from more tire clearance.

That is exactly what I'm wanting to do. That car looks great. Do you know what size tires are on it?

I think they were 15" wide x 28" tall, but I will look it up next week and post.

Where are those pics? I would really love to see them if available...
