I am currently serving in the USAF for the past 13 years. I am headed over to Germany in Feb2010 after I finish my tour down here in Honduras. The title says it all. I will be in Germany for 3-4 years. The car is a 70 nova and it is currently getting the bodywork & paintwork done so if I do decide to store it, the body wouldn't get worse then it was. Should I sell it and buy a new project when I get back to the states or should I store the car?
Give me your advise!
Also is it a possiblilty to find a vendor or custom shop that needs a test car for a few years to design new products for a 3rd Gen. nova? That could possibly use my car while I am gone.

If you have the means to store it I say store it. If in 3-4 years you lose interest and decide on a new project you could always sell the Nova to fund something else after your tour. BTW, THANK YOU for your service.

Well I am actually thinking about buying an enclosed car hauler to store the car and allot of my garage equipment in and take it up to my families place in NY.

I would say it depends how attached you are to it. were you going to redo it to sell it or because it was your dream car. if it's your dream car keep it by all means. if you were just going to try to turn it then sell it.

i agree depending on the sentimental value of the car i would make a decision on that. Also, though, you probably know that car inside and out so to take on a new project might be a major undertaking unless youre up for that. My car has been sitting for the past year ( a 70 nova  ) just from lack of funds and ive thought of selling it a few times but i cant get over the sentimental value of it so im just waiting to start making some nova money again. Bottom line if i were you id keep it, but there's always more cars out there that need a pro touring touch
thank you for your service and be safe while serving.

I've always been into customizing and putting my personel touch on newer vehicles. When I realized I was sinking 20k into a vehicle that was worth 4k. So I decided to buy this Nova and sink some money into something that would be worth somethign when I was done. So am I attached to the Nova I am for the reaso I have put som much work into the car. Plus both of my wife & kids have helped, not to mention my youngest has his eyes on the car when he starts driving.... Sounds like me when I was younger. So when you put it that way there is no question what I need to do. It looks like the car will get a nice rest in storage for a few years.

My Nova is in storage while I'm overseas. I don't have much money tied up in it, plus I needed storage for a couple other toys, so it was an easy decision.
