OK, I know there are enough of us in BC, Alberta Canada and WA and Oregon state. Even Northern Cali.
I'd love to attend a track day somewhere in this area, does anybody know of any or an event we could organize for our cars?
The only local track to me is in Mission, BC and it's not that great of a track.
I'm sure we could get a few guys together to organize something?
Blake/Killer Customs, JayR, Chris, Tony, Greg Weld?
I don't know what is offered at Pacific Raceway but it is a decent track and a good location in the middle for a group to meet at. It is in Auburn Wa.
I would go as a spectator at this point. My car is far from done.

Hoping somebody has some experience to organize or book something like this.
Link to the site: http://www.pacificraceways.com/
Shows some open dates available in Sept/Oct mostly mid-week though.

Park Place Ltd - in Bellevue might have some info on a track day... I think they support one - but it's more for Porches (intentional) and Lotus... Not sure if it's an 'open' day that you can just flog your own car. But if not - they might have info on how this is done - requirements - costs - etc....

This would be a lot of fun, that's for sure! Dan (conekiller13) usually attends a couple-few open track days and auto-x's at Portland International Raceway (http://www.portlandraceway.com/) a year. Usually the Alfa club rents the track and opens it to anyone that passes tech and drives with respect to others.

I've ran the track on Vancouver Island near Victoria, it was OK. Thats a fairly big drive for most though? Just tossing out another track out there.
I like the Portland idea. If someone plans this I guess we'd be looking at next spring?

Next spring? How about next week? I don't know if I can wait till next spring.:lol:
Pacific Raceways does quite a few open track days but I happen to be autocrossing the Buick at Bremerton airport on Labor Day, the 7th this coming weekend. www.BSCC.net Who's in? I was planning on running the morning session so I could get over the bridge before the yahoo holiday traffic.
It's a US holiday so it kind of leaves our buddies to the North hanging but hey, what's one Monday off work? They're also having a practice session on Sunday if that's a make or break for anyone. Thanks for starting the thread, Rybar. Who's taking the bait?

Mission is not a bad track, we have had our car out there. they run some open track days that only cost 275.00 for the day it is not a super long course but our camaro gets to 125mph by the end of the long straight.

Labor Day is one of the few holidays that we share in name and date so I am sure that there will be a Canadian or two there on Monday. It also means that the border will be a zoo but that's life.
Have fun!

Good to know. Thanks Jim. So we'll see you there? haha! I wish!

I wish I could make it Jason - we just got the car off the dyno yesterday after swapping the transmission and have to do some work on the rear end before heading to the Silver State deal in two weeks. The good news is the car is a whole bunch better than it was - the bad news is that it took a bit of time to get it right. Hopefully next year after the One Lap of America we will have some time to do some stuff a bit closer to home. Then again, I really like this California stuff...

I guess I started this thread so we could organize something in the future, I didn't necessarily mean tomorrow. There are a few auto-x events where I am locally but I have always wanted to try a track event.
I really like Todd's (Vegas69) idea of taking some lessons on how to drive the car. If anybody has any insight or suggestions for this at one the PNW tracks let me know.
I'm in for whatever whenever. They have classes at Pacific but being a large road course, tech is pretty stringent. I'd be down to go to Mission next summer.
As for this weekend, I'm officially registered for the Bremerton autocross on Monday for the AM session. Who's in?

Ryan, they give classes down here at PIR....check their website. If a ride along would work for you during an open track day then Dan would be the guy to help. He really knows the track well and how to drive!! He will be instructing me...when the time comes! :woot:

If somebody gets something going I'll be there. Pacific or PIR would be cool.
Let me know.

That place is completely addictive!
Where was all this enthusiasm on Monday? There was only one other musclecar at the whole damn auto-cross!

Hello:
Bringing thread back from the dead. I was searching the web for related topics and found this one.
I maintain an unofficial, independent calendar of local track days in the PNW here: http://www.pnwhpde.com. Take a look and see if there are any that map to your schedule.
Last year, I attended a Team Continental Portland event at which there were several Camaros (one vintage street car and a couple of conference race cars). And a whole crew of Vettes.
TC will be holding their schools out at the relatively new Oregon Raceway Park.
There are lots of good options for you guys. Some others you might find interesting:
* Rose City Corvettes (Portland)
* Corvette Marque Club (Pacific Raceways)
* ProFormance (Pacific Raceways)
* IRDC (Pacific Raceways)
* Cascade (Portland)
There are many other club events to choose from: Alfa, Audi, BMW, Porsche, etc.
Good luck.

Looks like it Blake - Goodguys Pacific Northwest Nationals is scheduled for July 23 - 25th, 2010
Would it be possible to put together a group to meet there? I will go get a rental car if I need to just to get some track time. My car will be no where near done by then. I would love to go thrash a rental for a few laps.:D

Count me in. I've only ran at a few open track days at PIR. Obviously would love to get some more in.
I hope this works out. Please let me know if I can help put it together somehow. I have never organized an event but am willing to give it a shot if anyone has any tips.
On another note.....the wifes car is going to get killed that day....:D If it dies I will leave it there and take the bus home. :lol:
