My Camaro project has the DSE front subframe with the Corvette spindles. The front studs are 12mm. My DSE rear quadralink with DSE ford 9" has 1/2" studs. Both are the same Chevy bolt pattern. Id like to have the studs be the same on all 4 wheels.
How would be the best way to get there?
1/2" is slightly larger than 12mm. But I have no idea what size the knurled shoulder is on the 2 different studs. I'm envisioning doing the work to the front flanges and converting them to 1/2". pressing the studs out of the flanges, having the flanges re-drilled to take a 1/2" stud of some sort, and then putting it all back together.
Can someone confirm my thoughts here? I know you have to be careful with hole diameters so that you get the right press fit with studs. Maybe there is something easier that I am missing here. Discuss please. Andy why does DSE do this? I bought both parts from them. Seems that they would build the axles to match the front studs, or something useful like that.
