2000 Silverado, driver's side window will not roll down, power windows. Bought window motor and new switch, still will not work. Passenger side works fine, even with new switch. There is a clicking noise that I traced to under the dash to a relay. Swapped them out, still doesn't work. It is not my daily driver, but I would like it fixed. Any ideas?

May sound funny but, maybe disconnect the battery and reconnect to see if that resets something?
GOOD LUCK!

Easiest thing to do is start with the basics. Check the PWR window fuse and to also make sure you have 12v on both sides of the fuse. If its ok, the green wire coming into the switch is your 12v hot, it comes from the fuse panel. Take a test light and make sure with the key on its hot. If not, the wire is likely broken ( if so check the pillar where the harness passes through).
If all that checks out, the window switch has two wires coming out of it that go to the window motor. Unplug the two wire connector between the motor and switch and take a test light and hook the alligator clip to B+ and backprobe the window switch side of the two wire connector. The two wires coming from the switch should both be grounded. If one, or both are not you either have a bad ground ( which for the window switch is behind the left kick panel ) , a broken wire, or a faulty switch. Even though you have a new one, it could still be faulty. Trust me :D
If they are both grounded then we move to the next step. One of those two wires, depending on which way you hit the switch, will turn 12v +. Make sure one done this on up, and the opposite wire on down.

If they dont, and all other things check out (as stated above) you have a faulty switch. If the switch works, unbolt the motor from the regulator and see if it operates. If it does, your regulator is bound up. If it doesnt, you have a bad motor. Easy way to test the motor, hook up a power and ground to it, doesnt matter which way you hook it up, it will spin right or left.

pwr window fuse is good. power at both sides of fuse is good. pwr at switch, but there is a clicking noise in the relays on the floor, the are hot. Took them out, emery cloth, re-installed. nothing. bang and cuss and then the window works! lube everything well, and start truck to move out of shop, and window doesn't work, clicking noise back. connect switch back to motor and back probe the wires, .7 and -.7 gives me this reading on the old window motor and the new window motor.

I have an 03 and my drivers side just stopped working, after reading this i'm not overly excited to try and fix it.

My money is on a bad regulator.

my money is on bad wiring in the door or the harness thru the door into the body. It is an intermittent problem at this point. New reg. old reg, new switch old switch, any combo it doesn't matter. Voltage at the switch sometimes...the search continues....

For those who care, bad ground at the ground pack by the floor in the drivers side. Spliced in a new ground, self tapper to the door, good as new.

I have seen this happen in other Silverados , Tahoes and Suburbans but the bad ground in all of those cases was affecting the power seats. I have not experienced the window issue. Although in my personal truck the windows are getting much slower in both directions over the last 2 years.

Mine did the same thing. It began moving slower and slower. It is an easy test to check for a bad ground. Pull the switch pack out of the door, you do not need to remove the door panel, and run a ground lead to the black wire on the switch. With the key on, press the switch to make the window go up and down. If the window moves up and down quickly, than the ground is getting bad. you can use the same fix as I did.
