Thanks for the kind words! Yeah the paint is a bit 'loud' I was real unsure of it before we sprayed, in fact the reason I got the pearl ( that the stripes are painted with) was to cover the whole car in it over the orange, making it sort of a copper / sunset look. But after we got the first coat of orange on, I was sold.
IT has PPG Epoxy Primer Blue color 3 coats
PPG Single Stage Custom mix orange 5 coats
House of Kolors Copper Penny Pearl 5 coats
And a Clear that I forgot the name of, 5 coats.
It was my first time doing any body work, and I did it all, sprayed probably 6 guide coats while wet sanding the primer, wet sanded after the orange, before the stripes, and still have to wet sand the clear.
I did not spray the orange, stripe or clear though.
Over all, I'm real proud of the job.
Work will begin of the bird soon. A lot of disasembly, and body work soon to come!

Orange is really Cool. Anybody here remember Scott Carpenter's "Cheeze Whiz" 55 Chevy? I love that color, and that car. I hear he still has it too.

I love that orange, but I'm more interested to hear what your plans are for the Firebird.

Yeah Jim, it was Scott Sullivan. I have some pics, just gotta find them. He was way ahead of his time at the peak of his career. :hail:

Oh yeah, I remember cheeze wizz! I grew up around 55's my dad has one, so I know a lot of the 'big' ones.
As for the bird, Project NV shes gonna be a custom green, with off white interior, modded suspinsion front and rear, probably coil over front rear still undeicided but thinking about an air bar , if so it will be bagged in front as well, 17" Pontiac Rally II's in billet, TH2004R tranny backing a buick Grand National 3.8L turbo that will actually be built from a 4.1L block. Interior will be mildly custom.
