I tried to talk my brother out of selling this car, but to no avail. He decided to go with a '72 C10 which means one project needs to go. I have seen this car in person and it is in near perfect shape. If you are looking for a great platform to start with...this is the car for you. It is just screaming for a 6.0/T56 swap and with it weighing around 2500lbs it would be crazy fast. The price is $3000 obo.
Here is what he said about the car.
The car is from Arizona. The only rust was a section that ran horizontally across the back tailgate. The tailgate was stripped using a chemical dip and repaired using a strip of metal from the original front passenger door. The tailgate is still bare metal. These cars are notorious for the weather stripping not sealing up against the glass. The door on this wagon had dirt and pine needles between an internal structure in the door and the sheet metal. The front passenger door had been damaged and rather than repair the door a new door was purchased. I have new bolts for that door, it has not been mounted. The door can be easily mounted if needed. I had no plans of keeping the original engine so most of the parts for the engine are gone. I have to long block and that's about it. I also have the original two speed transmission (powerglide). The transmission is aluminum making it the more desirable tranny. I had intended to replace the front end of the car with a mustang II front end. The engine has been pulled from the car and the front end is dismantled with the radiator support off the car. The car has a roof rack. Since this is a 400 model there is an under dash air conditioner. The previous owner replaced the steering wheel with an adjustable wheel. I purchased a rear differential from a Chevy S10 blazer. I have cut the spring perches off that differential and have new perches to weld onto them (bought from an aftermarket company). I have some new miscellaneous parts for the car as well; glove box, kick boards. I have the original seats from the car, and a set of original door panels and other pieces to use as templates to make a new interior. The glass is all in good shape, I have all the glass. I have two side mirrors, the new passenger door doesn't have hole for the mirror, but I do have the mirror. The body trim is all there, although some needs work to clean it up. Both the front and rear bumpers were damaged so I tossed them. It was cheaper at the time to buy new ones then to repair the originals. I have two very large plastic tubs with parts in them, those go with the car. The floor of the car was painted with an epoxy coat. I had the transmission inside the car to move the car and that caused some of the epoxy to flake off. Otherwise the interior just needs paint. The gas tank has also been painted with epoxy and a new gas gauge installed. The tires have American Racing rims. The car has a four bolt bolt pattern on original rims. The S10 differential is a five bolt bolt pattern. This was the plan all along because the new front end would have been a five bolt pattern.
