Ever had to use fall protection when painting? lol

I thought this was kinda cool, I wonder how many gallons something like that takes...

That is pretty awesome. Scott, do you have a hyperlink that I can send to some of my Industrial Safety professors?

I wasn't sure how to copy and paste it.

Sure. Just right click on the URL and 'copy shortcut'. Then just hit paste when in your e-mail.

well i have a friend that paints at a luxury motorhome place, the huge coaches that bands use for tour busses and such, and they have 55 gallon barrels of basecoat in each color and clearcoats, all Dupont Chroma. they use pressure pot guns with 30 gallon barrels to spray. Imagine how much money that is, when a gallon is like $3-500 for some colors. He said they have about 55 or more gallons of scrap paint at the end of every day that they throw away. they paint between 15-20 coaches a day (two shifts). An airplane is obviously bigger so i can only imagine how much paint they use.

Not airplanes but I did have a guy who worked for me for a short time who did. What I did paint before the economy went into the crapper was cement and refuse trucks, stood on the top of plenty of step ladders until the lifts were put in. All the paint was single stage and pumped about 200 ft to the booth where there it was mixed with the hardner through a computer setup.Such as these:

everything painted was using Akzo Nobel paint(Sikkens)

Yeah, but in bulk, they're not paying what we are for quarts and gallons...

It looks like that yellow prime coat is zinc chromate etching. Nasty stuff. But a great corrosion inhibitor for aluminum...
