Well, I just re-enlisted... again...

Mother Air Force owns my butt for another 4 years, 3 months and 3 days! :patriot:

This was the seventh time I've raised my right hand and it may be my last
as this term will take me out to 28 years of active duty... :geezer:

Just thought I'd share this rather personal milestone with my friends here... :lateral:

V/R,
Ty

Congrats. my bro stayed for 8 years after high school and that was enough. At least he got to go to Germany on one of his tours. Stay safe and thanks for serving the U.S. of A.

Congrats Ty! And thank you for your service.
28 years of service. A simple "thank you" just does not cover it.

Jerry already got my 30mm A-10 casings that I'd been holding onto since 1988 when I was assigned to the 53rd Fighter Squadron "Fighting Tigers" but I'll see what I can do for you my friend!!

I do have a few "practice" grenades if you just want to scare the crap outta someone! They make a nice mess if you screw the primer into a grapefruit on a hot day,, pull the pin and drop it thru a sunroof or roll it into an office! :willy:

btw The AN/GAU-8a 30mm Avenger seven-barrel gatling gun, mounted only on the A-10 attack jet, is a 30mm, 7 barrel gatling gun used primarily in the air to ground role as a soft target killer and tank buster... the A-10 can only fire in "high rate", which is 3900 rounds per minute!

Thanks buddy! Hopefully this won't be that last time I raise my right hand and recite the Oath Of Enlistment... with a little luck I'll get promoted and do it one more time to take me out to 30! :)

Thanks Ty for your service.

I would love to get a grenade and try this out at work. I just may record it.

When I was in the Security Police a hundred years ago I was stationed at Malmstrom AFB MT and we had armored (Dodge) vehicles called "Peace Keepers" or PKs for short. These things had extremely heavy doors that would open tough at an upward angle and a gun turret in the roof for a 50cal machine gun.

In the hot summer we used to drop "grapefruit grenades" in through the top and wait for the "pop" as the guys on the inside tired to get those big heavy doors open in a hurry! LOL :willy: That sticky pulp went EVERYWHERE!!

The only bad part was that every vehicle had to be clean when you turned it back into the motorpool/vehicle ops! That made for some pissed off cops at the wash rack let me tell ya!

Ah, the good old days... :geezer:
