I just got our first set of door handles for the 65-70 Mustang. They look awesome. I had Jim put them on a 68 that we are working on. They are direct replacement - we supply the handle, gaskets, fasteners and button - you use your stock linkage. I have a prototype of the GM handle now - should have something better to show in a month.

I saw them at Columbus and they are very classy. Jim told me that they will have them in different finishes. Another nice product from the brothers.

Chrome finish and natural cast so you can paint-to-match - there is also goign to be an optional insert for the handle that you can paint to match the body. Pretty sweet!

The GM handle fits a long line of cars but I doubt it will work for the tri year. BUT that is our next hinge coming out - should be in a month.

Can't wait to see the GM handle! Assume it will fit first gen.

BTW, you guys should make the Razor quarter fiber/gill inserts available in the aftermarket ;)

Can't go wrong with Ring bros. I have a little bling, in a little box on top of my cabinet. I figure I'll get to it in March, none the less I can't wait.

Just paint it yourself. For even the most technically challenged that is an easy task...

Oh and add me to the Mopar waiting list.

Are you still working on Mopar handles?

I tried getting some door handles from them and had nothing but trouble. Apparently, they have no control over the manufacturing of the door handles because i was not able to get them raw, before plating. Im a little disappointed. Mike tried to find some around the shop, but had none. And the manufacturer wont pull a set out and ship them as a bare casting.

i was not able to get them raw

i just talked to them about brushed handles. they dont have this option, but they do have polished handles that are raw and just polished. they will be easy enough to brush and wont cause any issues.

why would the raw polished handles not work for you?

These are for a Mustang by the way, so if the chevy ones are different, I don't know. Anyway, Mike told me he couldn't get them any other way than chrome (i believe they sell them black too). That's what he told me. From what i understand, they have no say so in the entire process because they couldn't sell me a bare casting. I assume they're cast somewhere, then sent to a chromer. It just doesn't mke sense to me that they can't intercept a set and send them to me. I'd pay the same price and they would save by not having them chromed. I want them bare because i may paint them or brush them. Maybe it's too big an operation and getting one set is too difficult?

they are different than the chevys and that must be the reason. the chevys come in a couple colors along with polished (not chrome).

that process is awesome. that opens up all sorts of new possibilities. i wonder how even you can get the finish over a large part (bumper)?

btw, my handles came ups today and they look amazing!

The WidowMaker

im looking for a brushed finish. ive done a ton of work to the bumper and dont want to pay 3-5k to have it chromed. i was planning on painting it since i can work it with fillers and primers, but this opens up another option.
