Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had experience with making chrome look like brushed aluminum? I am working on a 71 Firebird and was going to give all of the chrome on my car "that" look. The rear bumper I am going to weld the bumper bolts to the bumper, to give it a smooth look. Thanks for any and all input.

Use alot of scotchbrite and go to town. Alot of guys said that its time consuming and your fingers hurt forever afterwards.

Kinda what I figured. Would you have to clear coat it or use polish to resist corrosion?

You can do it a few different ways, scotchbrite or very fine sandpaper and be very careful on the edges so you don’t go through it. We do it all the time and will have a Chevelle out at Columbus with this feature. I will try to post some shots for you. Take your time and keep all the scratches going the same direction for the perfect look. It takes a lot of time and patients to do it but in the end its worth it.

Cool! Do you clear over it or do you use polish? I will be in Columbus on Sunday. I will have to check the car out so I can see how it looks. Tim.
