damn!!! you dont see tigs like that come out of home garages to often! :unibrow:
you look to have so killer fabrication skills, you work it a shop too?
imo i feel that the level of quality that you truck looks to be really doesent deserve a wheel like a coys though.;)

Thanks man... I would get better wheels but can't seem to get paid what i'm worth, so i'm planning to get my own thing going just have to come up with a plan of what i want to do for a income for my business...I've redone this tuck so many time as i got better and learned more over the years, if i could i would redo it again since i have even better tools...but i'm going to save my time on a project that would be worth something if i ever had to sale it..
I work at a ATV shop, but they like to use me so it just gives me more motivation to do my own thing

Wow, nice welds. What shop do you work for if you don't mind me asking. I used to build atv suspension. It was under the name Gibson. Just me and my old boss. Now I have my own shop and work on nothing but old stuff. It's hard when they don't appreciate what you do. Good luck. Thanks, Jon.

I can attest to the talent this guy has! His ability with the TIG torch leaves no room for improvement! It has made me spend countless hours of my "spare time" with the TIG trying to keep up (the weld envy has been killing me)! Best part, he's not just an incredible welder... he's a good person too.

I'll have to get some pics up a little later have a huge Sand Car in my garage right now along with my truck so there is no room in there right now to even move around...
I taught my self my own technique on tig and for mig i own Nate at PorterbBuiltStreetRods a liitle Thanks for showing me some good techniques...
My work ethics and craftsmanship come from my Dad who is a phenomenal carpenter and had me helping him do wood working at 12yrs old and from that i had my own little side jobs cutting out pine wood on the scroll saw for a tole painting class.... Then when i turned 16teen and bought my first truck the 2000 Tacoma you see here it was just trial and error, or learning and progressing from my mistakes..I've redone this truck so many time over the year because i keep learning new thing but it time to get this thing done and sale it and start a new and better project like a 63 unibody ford and a square body blazer

Greg,
Those welds look like ass. I am so glad you are not actually driving that car on a regular basis and have a new chassis for it. That is a huge accident waiting to happen.:wow:
I have seen this car in person, the rest of it looks just as bad underneath. I can't believe someone thought that was a good way to build a car. That guy needs his tools taken away forever.

I like your idea of taking his tools away. I'm thinking "for life" as the guy is too stupid to ever learn... LOL
PS -- before I ever dropped the car off the lift - I took out some of my die grinders and cut all the suspension welds out -- to call them welds is just WRONG - and hit them with my MIG machine.... I did NOT try to weld over this crap. That is impossible to do so cut them out first. I didn't do the motor mounts - can't get to those without pulling the motor... so each time I drive it - I worry that the motor will fall onto the ground....

I used to weld back in high school (well, I still weld) but back in the day we 'stick welded' every thing... even when I was a freshman in HS I could weld better than the crap on my chassis.
The originator of this thread however... can weld with his eyes closed - one hand behind his back - and hanging upside down from the Empire State building I think! They are without a doubt the most beautiful little stacks I've ever seen.

I will also have to agree that the originator of this thread, Brooks is the best welder that I have ever seen. I am no stranger to welding, I learned on a little mig, have done a little tig, and now I run a LN-25 .068 wire, and have learned to stick as an H.D.R welder for heavy equiptment.
This thread is truly inspirational for the art of welding and fabrication, and I can only hope that in time, to be half as good with a tig as Brooks.
I apologize for poking fun at the welds that you found on your ride, I understand that you did not weld them.

No apologies required - If I didn't expect them (the pictures of the really, really BAD welding) to be made fun of - I would have never posted them. To the contrary - I posted them for that very reason!

Okay - so here's the "deal" --- you need to make a VIDEO of your technique and post it so the rest of us might have a chance (yeah right!) at being 1/3rd as good...
I'm serious -- I'd love to be able to observe your technique - 'cause you got it down buddy!

I just walked in from the "shed" - where I held the torch to my head for an hour or so... but I just couldn't step on the trigger. I would have, but it would have been just one more "mess" rather than the perfect little coins you're laying out....
LOL
Man.... I am so in awe! :hail: :hail:

Some can walk the dog -- but you can really walk the cup!
There's a couple of videos on YouTube where a guy is TIG welding a rather large stainless "tube" to a flange of some kind -- and he walks the cup all the way around this bad boy without stopping... and this guy is laying down some seriously nice stuff. No carpal tunnel there buddy!
LOL

Okay - took me some time.. but I found the YouTube video of this guy walking the cup... It starts out boring - but if you like welding - you'll watch to the end when he shows you the results...
