I just uploaded some nice pics to Photobucket and IMO it seemed to really downgrade the image quality of the original.
Any recommendations of free hosting services that are an upgrade in resolution? The other option is Photobuckets' upgrade which is $3.95 a month or $39.95 a year.

Can always do what I did, get your own webspace and create your own photo gallery, you choose the resolution you want :)
Actually not that much more than those other photo sites.

Thanks!
The software I used was free and fairly intuitive. Hosting places are cheap these days and provide LOTS of bandwidth for the money.
1and1.com has really good deals from what I understand. $6-10 a month for a terabyte of bandwidth a month... insane amounts of bandwidth if you ask me.

Eric,
Yes, I have some domains already from 1and. You're correct their prices are very fair.
Have you ever viewed your pics using

try flickr.com - you get 200 uploads for free, if you want more than that though its like $25 for a year...
can also organize into albums. i think you get 3 for free.
