Don't need this anymore with the new LS2.
This is a custom road race oil pan that I had Canton make for me. It certainly fits a 68-72 A-body with a early 2-piece rear main / DS dipstick SBC and should fit 64-67 cars as well. Does not hang below the crossmember. It's a kickout design with 5 trap doors, scraper, windage screen, magnetic drain plug, etc. I designed the kickouts to clear the "under the starter" header tube of Hooker 1.75" primary Super Comp headers which are a very common A-body header. There is an added NPT bung on the passenger side of the kickout for an oil temp sender as well as an additional plug on top of the DS kickout for a dipstick tube. It will clear a full length filter in the stock location.
Comes with a Melling M55A high pressure oil pump that I deburred the gears on and lapped the housing to achieve .002" gear clearance. The pump has the correct pickup for this pan which you can cut off and use on your pump or you can just use this one (it has less than 10,000 miles on it.) If you need another pickup (3/4" inlet, etc) the pan is based off a Canton 15-250 so you can buy the appropriate pickup for that pan for about $35.
I never had an oil starvation issue with this pan.
Near Sacramento, CA.
