have good brakes but takes alot of effort to get it to stop. I am running 1' wilwood master w/no booster. Do i need a smaller master, a brake booster or what. scared to autocross at goodguys because of the short shut down area.

You're running the same size master cylinder that the LS1's run with a dual 9" brake booster, so you'll want to downsize your MC bore to get your pressure up and your brake torque back into the range where it should be. Wilwood makes a good 7/8" bore universal unit that works really well with C5/C6 setups and should work similarly well with the LS1 calipers which are very similar but have slightly larger front caliper pistons (43mm versus 40.5mm). A less expensive option would be an OE replacement, cast iron unit from a '77 Malibu with manual disc/drum brakes which has a 15/16" bore.
