I am looking at a project car in Folsom, CA...that if we make the deal will have to be shipped to IL - zip 61727.
The car will have no motor, but it will roll and steer with BOXES of new parts strapped to and it it. In fact we are talking about using the engine bay with some plywood in the bottom to hold many of the parts.
It won't qualify for the typical open hauler...
Suggestions...ideas....recommendations?
So far I am getting some pretty high quotes...The shipping eats up a huge value of buying the car....
THANKS!

You might get ahold of Fred at Concours. He's the guy Charley and I use for all our shipping. It'd be enclosed, he usually doesn't have a problem with non-running cars. He's also heading back East towards Power Tour I believe, so he can easily swing by here to pick up the car. on the way (he's out of Vegas).
You can reach him at (702) 361-1928

I just talked to him - heck of a nice guy...and HONEST about the way things go down in shipping. Best price I have found so far too!
Now...I have to make the deal on the car...and the rest is history....

Jody do you know if he can drive in Oregon? I know a lot of drivers/companies don't pay for that state or the NW for that matter)...ran into that last time.
Chris, congrats on the new project!!

Just a FYI.
I learned my lesson. Purchased a Mustang out of Phoenix for delivery into Sacramento. Car showed up a week late, 20 miles away from my home with the truck driver demanding cash$$. I was ready to sue, but wanted the car more and paid the guy. Nothing like driving a 69 Fastback down a crowded highway on a Friday night overheating. I would of paid a lot more for the security of knowing a good company. Stay away from the brokers! Ask the service your using who they utilize.
Good Luck

I was wondering if anyone might be able to give me a good example of what they paid to have a car shipped? I am asking to weigh out options for my wedding next year, I do not have a truck and renting a trunk to go out of state i crazy I thought in price. I would be leaving NC and going a hour north of the Twin Cities in MN. Any help woyld be great!!!! Brandon
